Subject: Complaint Vodafone Service
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my disappointment in the service that your company is providing.
I have entered in an 18 Months contract for Vodafone Broadband,
On the 27th of March, my internet has ceased to work, there is a strong signal on the dongle, but nothing is being downloaded. Now, on the 30 March, I phoned and complained about this situation. I been told that there is a problem with the Mast (network) in my area and the engineers are working on the issue. On 2nd of April, as there was still no internet connection, other than for a few minutes, now and again, I phoned again customer service, and again, been given the same reply: the engineers are looking into the matter, but no fixing date has been given. On 6 April, I phoned once again, and been told that you’re migrating the systems therefore nothing can be done at that stage.
Today, 7 April, I phoned once again, and after being put through from one department to another, after 1hour and 23 minutes on the phone, I got the same message, this is 12 days later, “we are aware of the issue, our engineers will add your number to their date of base and will let you know when the issue is going to be fixed”. This is absolutely ridiculous. I am paying a service I don’t receive, and I strongly feel that you’re in breach of your contract with me.
In the same conversation, I have asked to cancel my contract with Vodafone, and I have been told that I cannot cancel unless I pay the remaining of my contract. Could you please explain to me how this works? Have you conned me to get into a one side contract only, are you only protecting your interests? What about customers interests? If you cannot provide me with the service that you have promised, why are you holding me down to a useless contract? I have read through your terms and conditions and I cannot find any articles that mention the procedures that must be followed when service is not being provided.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Vodafone, and with the way your customer service staff deal with the customers.
I would like you to look into this matter and cancel my contract, without any further payments, or I’ll have no alternative to take this matter further.
Look forward to hearing from you
Yours Sincerely
This was sent in March 2009, now in January 2010 I cannot take their dogs of me, Debt collection company FPC has been chasing me ever since for £80, when I paid Vodafone for 12 mths of service over £460.
My advice to anyone reading this: Avoid at all costs.
It seems that I have no optoion left but to take them to court.

well it seems vodafone have gone all out in the uk service seems excellent however in ireland i have vodafone broadband and it is the worst ever service of mobile broadband ive used to date ..0.42 mbs all day download speeds complete pathetic it is not 2 mention the signal is supposed to cover everywhere in my area only get 1-2 bars at best signal ..i was with 3 b4 and they were the same but they won a government grant for running the national braodband scheme so speed are at 3.20 mbs in the day and can actually download at 1 mb/s at night in the day its 333kb/s its great compared to vodafone 42 kb/s in the day and 272 kb/s at night its a disgrace!!!

Well, What can I say! Vodafone have been the best mobile broadband service by far! I’ve tried 3, and to be honest, although they may have ads placed everywhere, they’re support is very poor at 3, and vodafone, clearly do have better support, and guide you.
Soon as I bought the Vodafone 3 Mobile Broadband (3mb) for 12 Months, It arrived the very next day, plugged it in, no trouble at all, got an average speed of 4-6mb! (They say upto 7.2mb)
Took it on holiday, and speeds were much better than 3 in fact, average speeds in London were about 2-3mb and even tried it on the Motorway (Although disconnected some times) but speed was still 5-6mb!
I don’t know why people are rating this 3/4 out of 10 because to be honest, Vodafone are the best Mobile Broadband Service out there, OK, 3 beats them on price, but to be honest, quality matters, not looks and designs, although Vodafone does have a nice simple White dongle with there logo and supports 3G networks!
The coverage for Vodafone is also amazing! Took my netbook on the beech, plugged the dongle in, speeds of around 2-3mb which is pretty good, so can’t complain!.
So, Overall, I would recommend the Vodafone 3mb Mobile Broadband Service, It’s easy to setup, (Just Plug and Play basically). After trying 3’s service, it was very poor. Vodafone are my number 1 choice for Mobile Broadband.
Things you may like: Allows you to connect to GPRS/3G Networks wherever you are, does state an estimate of how much bandwidth you are using, They do have trials which allow you to test it first, as well as Next Day delivery for your dongle!
Things you may not like: Setup may take some time when you first install it (i.e. 10-15 mins), I admit, in some area’s you will get very low speeds, even reaching into the 56K Dialup connection speeds! But, nevertheless, I still feel that the speeds are the highest compared to other providers
Vodafone, Excellent Coverage, Fast Speed, Superb Support
3, Excellent Coverage, Low Speed, Disconnections, Bad Support
02, Not Bad Coverage, Average Speed, Excellent Support.

Got mobile broadband because my girlfriend doesn’t have broadband at hers and I didn’t want to pay for broadband twice. I used to have Be 24Mb broadband and it’s not as fast as that and can struggle with online games but I guess that’s to be expected. It’s performed better than I expected and I wouldn’t switch back to non mobile broadband. I love that it’s easy to use and you can get online any where with your laptop. Have already recommended Vodafone mobile broadband to my dad. I wouldn’t recommend it for online gamers but for pretty much anything else it’s very capable.

Overall I’m very happy with the Vodafone USB broadband stick. I travel lots on business and overall I get good speeds and a good connection. My one gripe is that speeds sometimes slow down going through certain areas on the train. I’ve also used it in a number of countries abroad and coverage has been good there too and I guess it’s probably more secure than using an open network in a coffee shop!

Overall I’m pretty pleased with my Vodafone mobile broadband, it seems to work well even in rural areas and the speeds have been better than expected. Really simple to use, my 2 year old could probably set it up and I haven’t had to phone customer service or technical support so far, touch wood!! I’m slightly annoyed to have paid full price though now I see they are advertising the same deals at half price!! That aside I’d give them top marks.
