Virgin use T-Mobile’s network and speeds are middle of the road for both upload and download speed. We’ve received mixed feedback on speeds and with a smaller customer base than their rivals to some extent the jury is still out on Virgin mobile broadband.
Using T-Mobiles network Virgin coverage is decent though interestingly our own testing has seen Virgin perform very slightly worse than T-Mobile. Overall though Virgin are strong in this category.
An otherwise decent service is let down by Virgin’s below par customer service. Virgin also scores below average in our customer satisfaction ratings.
Compared to other providers the choice of plans is quite limited. Value for money is decent and on a par with most the other providers whilst not quite being the cheapest.
Using the T-Mobile network Virgin perform similarly on speed and coverage. There’s less choice and they are not the cheapest whilst their non UK based technical support has been a cause of frustration for many customers.
I have been with Virgin for 5 years for TV, Phone and broadband (cable).
Broadband is fast and stable, I have tested it and get my 10MB. Very rarely I need to reset my modem and my router, but that’s only every 6 months or so and takes 2 mins. They are very helpful on the phone and because its cable, I don’t have to rely on the speed of the BT line! I thoroughly recommend them.
I have been with Virgin for 18 months now (moved from TalkTalk –the worst provider).
I was paying £19.50 initially and now the cost has creped to £37 monthly!
Fibre optic broadband is good. But I am not happy with the charges (increasing constantly without informing me). Looking into moving from Virgin soon.
Since setting up my virgin mobile broadband the speed and connection is terrible. Giving customer support a call they were very helpful, but unfortunately were not able to give me a solution. Some areas I have no problem with connection, but the majority of the time it is awful.
Have recently purchased virgin mobile broadband and have found it great for working on the go in Liverpool. The speeds tend to vary abit, sometimes even to dial up speeds, but often get around 2mb.
