Speed
T-Mobile perform the best on upload speeds of all providers but averages the slowest download speeds. For most types of internet usage such as browsing websites and emailing the typical speeds of a T-Mobile connection will be fine but may prove too slow for activities such as watching video clips or downloading films. T-Mobile are set to start sharing mobile networks with Orange which should see them move towards the top of the speed league alongside Orange.
Reliability and coverage
T-Mobile score above average for reliability and coverage and we hear fewer complaints in these areas than with some of the other providers. The move to share networks with Orange should give them excellent coverage and reliability in the very near future.
Customer support
T-Mobile have made a real effort be customer focused and this is one of the main selling points of this network who are ahead of the game in this respect. The first network not to penalise their customers for exceeding download limits and with good customer service and technical support T-Mobile lead the way in this category.
Choice of plans and Value
T-Mobile has a great range of mobile broadband plans even offering one with a pink dongle! However having offered arguably the best range of ‘free laptop’ deals these have now been completely withdrawn losing T-Mobile points in this category. Otherwise the T-Mobile broadband deals are competitively priced particularly if you occasionally stay over your download allowance.
Overall verdict
Clear winners on customer service T-Mobile are the most customer focused network and were the first to introduce a fair usage policy that didn’t penalise customers for exceeding their download limits. Whilst speeds are currently a little disappointing we expect that by combining their network with Orange’s, following the merger of the two companies, speeds should improve significantly to be as good or better than the competition. This should also improve coverage and reliability from mid table to excellent. If you want a network that really puts the customer first then T-Mobile should top your list.

the customer service staff are too rude and keep offering you some things but what they say and what you get is completely different. when you try to complain, they dont care and are not willing to help. the network coverage is poor and the line keeps cutting off. i would not recommend T-Mobile, it’s very unreliable.
The customer support from t-mobile is PATHETIC. They’re very happy to offer a new deal but as soon as something goes wrong you get passed from department to department and nobody wants to help. I asked to make a complaint and was told I had to email it. That’s very useful when my internet dongle was broken!!!!
The internet connection speed has been UTTER RUBBISH from the start. I live in a ‘high-coverage’ area so should have no problem with the speed but I’m frequently restricted to ‘local access only’ and it frequently disconnects itself from the internet. My advice is to avoid T-Mobile at all costs
i recently got a t mobile dongle because my vodafone one was really crap ! i was told it was the latest design with an excellent signal , what a complete and utter pile of crap it is ! it is constantly losing the signal ! sometimes it takes 10 mins to download a 30 second clip ! total total crap !
To people complaining, I say: first you
should read the user guide. It’s written
in it that there is a content locked.

up to see so many comments of
unsatisfied people.
I’m extremely satisfied with the T-
Mobile mobile broadband. Got the PAYG
with USB Stick 150.
Tested in 3 different locations and
quality is excellent: NEVER experienced
any disconnection, connection always
succesfull at the first time, signal
excellent (always 98%) and practical
bandwith of 1.8 Mb/s almost all the
time, even in the evening.
So my hat off, T-Mobile.
Just that NO mobile broadband can
replace, at the moment, a “normal”
broadband, in term of speed and
reliability of bandwidth.
People who expect the same level really
make me laugh and shows that they did
not understand anything.

Excellent speeds!
I brought t-mobile on monthly contract a few months ago and have found it brilliant. The speed has been much better than i expected and when i had to call the customer services i found them very helpful and quick responding to my query.
The Asus netbook i got free has been great for checking facebook and sending emails whilst out and about!
I signed up to the t-mobile free hp laptop deal in July and have been really impressed so far.
I see some people have been moaning about speeds and sometimes things do slow down but I experience that with my home broadband too.
The laptop is a very good spec and I’ve been acheiving speeds of around 1.5mb on average from my mobile connection, which is fine for what I need.
I have already reccommended the laptop and mobile broadband deal to my friends and family.

i have recently purchased the new t-mobile usb modem & is alot better than there older version with the old modem i found that the top speed you could recieve was 3.6mbps & that was with a excellent 3g coverage when i signed up they did a coverage test on my postcode & came up with 4/6bars for 3g coverage in my area i have done a speed test & i get on average 5.3mbps but can get upto 7.2mbps when its not peak times when there’s not many people on the internet at the sametime also i have found that this is one of the best service for money as i found out from previous experience that other mobile company have what they call a fair usage policy & charge you upto £15.00 extra if you go over the download limit where as t-mobile dont so overall i would rate this a good service
Speeds have been ok though not as fast as advertised. Coverage has been good though so I’m reasonably happy with service.
