I signed up with Orange Mobile broadband in August 2009. I have received two bills for 6 weeks usage of £969.15. My limit was 3GB per month and I have been with Vodafone before this and never exceeded their limit. Basically, I have been using my connection to access my mail and facebook and a few Windows update.

When I do need to talk to customer service, which isn't often, I find it difficult to understand what I am being asked or told because of the very poor English that is being spoken.

please ,please dont go with orange i have had nothing but trouble with them from day 1.There customer support if you can get throught is terrible i cancelled my contract after 6 weeks of hell

Orange Mobile Broadband Review

The signal just wouldn't stop dropping. When it did work then it was slow. I was outside the return window when I finally had enough and the customer support was great. The unlimited internet plan is misleading as well, it is twice the price of the 15GB Three contract and only 5GB more. And then it doesn't work on top of that.

Excessive billing from Orange Mobile Broadband

I signed up with Orange Mobile broadband in August 2009. I have received two bills for 6 weeks usage of £969.15. My limit was 3GB per month and I have been with Vodafone before this and never exceeded their limit. Basically, I have been using my connection to access my mail and facebook and a few Windows update. I have declined the invoices but according to their customer service they have already given me a bad credit report. Have sent an email to Jackie O'Leary (vice president of Orange Personal Communications). After that I got contaced by Executive department. First they offered me 25% off, when I did not agreed to that, the next offer was 50% off. I offered them to pay 25% and have a written document that I would not receive any bad credit report. At this point they are not willing to offer me that. To me this totally outrageous, I know I am not responsible for the 19GB they claim I have been using. In Executive department they said that the case might be that I left the dongle in the computer over night and that is has been updating internet during that time. I believe there is a major fault in Orange billing system and from what I learn many people share the same experience. The next step for me is to send an email to BBC Watchdog and as many news papers as I can. I am not going to let Orange get away with charging me this amount and claim it is correct and also give me a bad credit report while I am in a dispute of there outrageous invoices. I found out from online search that quite a number of people experience the same. I be happy to hear from everyone who has trouble with Orange Mobile broadband billing. Better than internet dialup

I was using BT internet dialup for years and decided to take on an Orange 18month mobile broadband contract. I have to say that value for money and ease of use is excellent. I use the internet for emails, browsing and shopping and Orange mobile broadband is ideal and fast enough. Forgot to mention - very easy to use, just plug and play.

I purchased a mobile internet connection from Orange and have to say that i'm chuffed to bits with it. It's perfect for me whilst away from the office. Perfect for email, reading and editing MS docs etc.

I travel on business regularly so signed up for the Orange moble broadband service. It's been great getting online wherver I am and coverage has been good but speeds are mostly really slow. I'd say it's fine for web surfing and emailing but not really suited to heavy downloading. It can struggle when I open large attachments from emails.

Speed

Orange have increased their speeds dramatically recently and for the first time have displaced Vodafone to top our mobile broadband speed league tables with customers averaging a very respectable 1.8Mbs download speed with Orange. Given that Orange was previously one of the poorer performing providers for speed this is an impressive turn around. Hopefully Orange’s merger with T-Mobile will improve speeds, coverage and reliability for even more of their customers.

Reliability and coverage

Having worked to upgrade their network and speeds reliability and coverage are relatively good with Orange and should improve further when they combine their networks with T-Mobile’s. We still see some complaints of dropped coverage or very slow speeds but these seem to be decreasing.

Customer Service

Orange perform OK when it comes to customer service but there’s definitely room for improvement with T-Mobile, O2 and Vodafone being ahead when it comes to customer satisfaction ratings though Orange certainly are not the worst either.

Choice of plans and value

A reasonable choice of plans and reasonable value for money, they’re not quite the cheapest and Orange doesn’t win any prizes here but neither does it fall a long way short of any of it’s rivals. There’s a decent range of plans to suit most providers and some better deals for existing Orange customers. There’s also the value adds such as Orange Wednesdays which, amongst other things, give you access to cheap cinema tickets which boosts Orange’s score to a respectable 4 out of 5 in this category.

Scoring well in all areas other than customer service which is average Orange mobile broadband has seen improved speeds and coverage recently hence it’s good overall score.
