What to look for
Before deciding which is the best broadband deals there are a few points to take into consideration:

- Does the price increase after the initial discounted period? Some broadband deals have an introductory rate that is cheaper for the first few months of the contract before reverting to a higher price. Check the annual cost column of our comparisons tables to work out the true value of the deals
- What sort if broadband user are you? If you are a very frequent broadband user or like to download video or music or play online games look for a broadband deal with a high download limit for an unlimited broadband deal. If you only plan on using your broadband connection to surf the internet and send emails you should be fine with a cheap broadband deal which may have a lower download limit.
- Does the deal lock you in to a lengthy contract? Many broadband deals require you to sign a contract of 12 months or greater. Check the contract length (you can see this in our comparison tables) before deciding which broadband deal is best for you. - Are free laptop broadband deals worth it? AOL offer a free laptop with some of their broadband deals and many mobile broadband deals of a free laptop. These broadband deals cost more per month and are usually for a 12 month or 18 month contract and you will end up paying for the cost of the laptop over this period so it's not really free. However it does mean you get a new laptop with your broadband deal and you get to spread the cost of the laptop over the length of the contract. Is a Broadband bundle deal the best option? Many broadband providers offer broadband deals bundled together with phone and TV packages. It often works out cheaper than buying the services separately and means you get 1 bill for all the services which can save hassle and also means you only have 1 provider to speak to if something goes wrong.
