Ordered sky on the 21ST December, TV installed on 29/12/2012. Broadband and phoneline to be installed on 21.01.13. No show on this date, rearranged for 7/02/13 again no show, rang sky to be told was a mistake on their part was due to come out 8/2/13, despite three texts from sky stating 7/02/13. Engineer was unable to complete job, three more engineers, 3 phonecalls a day since then and still no internet. SKY customer service is appalling, I get a different story from every adviser that I speak to, I have been promised many different sms updates and many different call backs, very few of which have be carried out. They can't even get my name right, one person has called me Jessabell and another called me Christiana. Really very annoyed. Attempted to cancel on three different occasions nobody will cancel it I just end up screaming at them. I have even begged and cried for them to cancel it. I have now just had another engineer date for the 1.03.13 OVER THREE WEEKS OFF!!! All my calls to sky are from my mobile as I can't get them to install my landline, 0845 number!!!!

Just want to warn everyone against Sky Broadband....after months of calling them to complain about the internet service (or the lack thereof) they tell me that they could recommend a newer model of router but insist that we pay an extra £40. I told them that we had been receiving a fraction of the band width that we pay for and that it was unacceptable that we should pay extra to deal with a problem that they should be responsible for (especially if they are not even sure that this will solve the issue). I asked them to give me just ONE reason to stay with their lousy company and the customer service woman couldn't even come up with one reason....after having a subscription with them for six years, this is really disappointing!!!

Sky routers have a problem on them, wifi devices can see the internet but not other devices on the network

This includes:
Nas hard disk (Sky say they don't support this service)
IP Cameras (not supported)
Ok then what about printing to a wifi printer...
Sky don't support this service!
Remote assistance/remote desktop (part of windows) is Not supported.

Got a DNLA Smart tv where you can stream tv programs and films to it., not over wifi you can't, that was the extra 400 quid well spent

Basically all that is supported as a service is accessing the internet for web browsing, do you need 70mb broadband to download p0rn 10milliseconds faster?

They have said I can leave without contract or charge, which is already suspicious.

The irony is that the KNOWN issue and fix is listed on this page, hosted on their website or all places!
http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Fibre-Broadband/WiFi-devices-cannot-see-each-other-or-ethernet-devices-and-vice/td-p/422863

Page 3 tells us that the fix is for sky to update your firmware to 6.14.1a4N_UNI from 5.27.1a4N
It even shows a screenshot of the router page

Shame Sky, it was good but I think I am off to Virgin instead and you can take your tv which we loose every time it rains

Sky continuously exceeds expectations- expectations of incompetence and diabolical service.

Just when you think they can’t get any worse they prove you wrong and manage to succeed. The worst company I have ever had dealings with.

Their call centre staff and brain dead simpletons and their sales technique is to tell you a load of lies to get a sale. I learned very quickly to get things in writing so emailed instead of rang, however their way around this is taking 2 weeks to email back obviously hoping you ring so they can lie more easy.

Deeply regretted changing my phone and broadband, only did it because I was told lies by the sales advisor.

I have a full Sky TV, Phone Broadband package for 18 months. It is not the cheapest but for convenience I wanted everything together. I never achieved 2mb speed but could live with 1.5-1.8.
What I am no longer able to live with is the tragic lack of reliability. I work from home and need a service that is dependable, the only thing I can rely on with Sky is that my broadband will drop out at least 3 times each day, only maybe for 2-4 minutes but long enough for me to lose work and disrupt my day.
In the time I've been with them I have been without broadband for a total of 4 weeks, and no offer of compensation.
If you need a reliable service, please do not even consider using Sky.

Installed on 03/0612 and after 2 days without a connection telephoned customer service who were more than helpful.
A few tests needed to be done of which i had already troubleshooted most of them of my own accord and it was determined that it was the connection at the exchange which was the problem any time they tried to increase the speed it kept cutting out.
2 days later an engineer arrives from bt to confirm this he makes a few adjustments at the exchange and says we can now get 2mb.
Sky promised a minimum of 5mb with an average range of between 7mb-14mb, for this to happen the engineer says they need to upgrade their equipment at the exchange and they will be reluctant to.
If they refuse to upgrade the equipment i will cancel, it says in the small print you can do this due to them not providing adequate speed.
Half the people on here are crazies, if you talk things through rationally with the customer support team and read your contract you will realise there is no need for the high blood pressure and abuse directed at the call centre staff - idiots.

I cannot put into words how utterly terrible the service is. I mean they are terrible. If you have a choice go with someone else. The lies the people tell you just to get you off the phone is unreal. a promise from sky is as useless as the staff they employ. If I could say one thing the theirs who staff it would be duds. Honestly they are terrible. My phone number was given away to another customer and they told me it would be fixed in 12 hours. then 2 days, then 1 week then 3 weeks, then 1 month...8 weeks later. they gave me half price at £40 per month then take the full bill saying that not what they agreed! Then U speak to some person who couldn’t care less and actually trys to get you to cancel just to end the call. Utterly crap folks I would stay well clear.
