    I am amazed at how awful these reviews are. I ordered orange broadband purely because it seemed such good value - £23 for a package including broadband, line rental, two phone lines and free calls 24/7 to landlines in the uk and 25 countries abroad. (you can only get this package if you have an orange mobile phone). The connection to broadband was set up without any hiccups. I moved house 4 weeks after getting the package, and all my services were transferred to the new address at no cost, with broadband up and running again after seven days as projected by customer services. I received emails keeping me informed of sll stsgs of the connection process. To date I have not once even briefly lost my broadband connection. The only drawbacks I can think of is a slightly complicated set-up process (but I managed it with the instructions), and different passwords for different parts of thepackage, which gets confusing at times. I am happier with Orange than I have been with any other provider (have tried SKY, BT, 3 and AOL over the years). I don’t usually enter reviews, but thought I should on this occasion as my experience is so different from the ones I ave read here.

    Have been helping a neighbour who was having email problems with her Orange Broadband service.

    She started finding many emails were never received, although all the spam still got through. Several calls to ‘Customer Services’ who were clearly in India and knew considerably less about email and computers than I did! After getting them to escalate the problem, which would be sorted out in 48 hours - nothing.

    More phone calls and different time scales for resolution, but still no response or solution of problem. After further calls and nothing being done - and no way to register a complaint verbally, the customer gave up.

    She is now moving to BT and when phoning Orange for a MAC code, she was almost begged to stay with Orange, by somebody who at least sounded like they cared (NOT in India for course!) but was told it was all too late.

    Got to say I have had experience of helping people with a number of different ISPs and most of them are pretty poor, but Orange are the worst of the lot!

    been with orange and before that wanadoo and freeserve noticed the speed is getting slower and slower even though they increased the price from £9.99 to £19.99 too expensive now for what they offer going over to talk talk give them a try

    Just don’t do it.
    We went from 6Mbps on Be to a max of
    300kbps on orange and it is constantly
    dropping out. We haven’t moved it’s the same
    line isn’t it, and will they fix it ? Not so far and
    it has been months. They need to be hung.
    What a mistake !!

    Absolutely appalling, the download speeds have dropped to an average of 0.3Mbs during the peak periods. Sometimes I am getting faster upload speeds than download. If I go online at retard o’clock in the morning I can get 3.0Mbs O whoopee do!! Hello Earth to Orange! I want decent speeds when I want to use the internet not when you can be bothered to give it to me! I had several long and interesting chats with the helpful people at orange support (note the sarcasm) during which I was informed that it must be the BT line that was at fault. If that is the case, why was my next door neighbour getting 1.0Mb/s when I was getting 0.3Mb/s? In short if you are the sort of person who enjoys mutilating your scrotum with a rusty pen knife, sign up to Orange. Otherwise, avoid them like the plague, they are useless. (with thanks to my 15 year old son for the advice on grammar don’t you just hate it when they do that)

    Was with this lot from the Freeserve days, through Wanadoo and finally Orange with the service deteriorating as the companies changed.
    Freeserve = Great
    Orange = Okay
    I say okay but this is excluding their absolutely appauling customer service which I would award -5 if it was possible to do so.

    Took the 8 mb package but was told I could only get 2mb due to my phone line.
    Repeatedly asked if it could be upgraded to 8mb to be fobbed off with the same story. Changed to O2 and got 8mb straight away for £7.34 as oppose to the £18 I had been paying Orange. Strange that isn’t it?
    Checked again today and they would still only give me 6mb for £20.

    The service was reliable though, I only had about five drop outs in the time from Freeserve to Orange which covered arond 6 years and never had any trouble with billing

    I moved to Orange from BT after getting a very good deal on BB as a monthly mobile customer. The actual move took a little time (Orange seemed to misplace the order) but on the transfer day it all worked well.
    I’m getting slightly faster speeds (up & down) and I do not suffer from slow speed during peak times as I did with BT (Sunday evenings was especially bad)

    Most importantly for me, the single monthly payment charge for everything (including line rental) is SO much easier to understand than my old BT bills.

    Terrible Customer Support
    It is ok until you have a problem. Once you got a problem, it will be a pure nightmare.The customer service is awful. They never listen to you and they never admit their fault. I have been charged the late payment last three months because they said I didn’t inform the new card details, so it delays the payment transaction. That’s rubbish!! My card has not changed last 2 years! However, they never admit their administration fault and still keep charging you. You may not believe that they did exactly the same mistake last year as well and I paid for their mistakes. When you got a problem, Orange never deal with you, never listen to you and insist there is no problem at their end. How awful is that! I ordered the MAC code to leave and only hope they will give me the right one which works.

    why do orange get so many bad reviews I was with demon but was just about getting a meg and in peak time forget about using it 512 speeds so I changed to orange and have not looked back now im getting 6 meg all day every day and my phone line is perfect with cheap/free calls im very happy hence I am leaving this review because I think they are great

    Avoid at all costs!

    I have been trying to request a MAC code to leave this sorry outfit and when it was at last issued, it was not accepted by my new provider so I have to wait until the original expires before they will issue another - even though it is their fault.

    Their starter Broadband package just increased from £14.99 a month to £19.99 with the promise of up to 8 Meg but it remains at 1 Meg.

    Nothing short of a disgrace to increase the monthly fees by 25% in the middle of a recession.

    I have been with them for about eight years (previously Freeserve) and cannot wait to leave.

    Awful customer service, awful connection, slow speed, over priced and totally incompetent!

    I endured 18 months with Orange and received the most awful and expensive service one could imagine.I finally moved to Post Office Broadband which with its calls package and overall good service has restored my faith in Broadband

    I’ve now switched to o2, but my time with orange broadband was a somewhat dissapointing experience. Speeds were at the lower end of average. Customer support was awful, and on attempting to leave to move to o2, I have been overcharged two months at £17 which Orange have told me they will not be refunding. Am currently in the process of formally complaining.

    I’ve been with Orange Broadband since the beginning and can honestly say I’ve never had a problem. I agree that customer support is a shambles but the actual broadband has never let me down. God I hope I haven’t spoken too soon.

    When my contract with Virgin was up a few weeks ago,i started looking around for the best deal i could get for my broadband and was given no pointers at all from review sites.This is because people rarely review their providers unless something goes wrong and thy’re dis-satisfied with the service in some way.So here goes:I looked at a variety of providers and they generally had poor reviews.In the end,as my mobile contract was with Orange, i opted for them despite the poor reviews they get.Their service has been excellent having switched me over on the day they said they would and have provided a high speed connection (connected at6.5meg on an 8meg connection)Their live box is excellent and after a few teething problems with my user name their customer service is good.I actually recieved a phone call today asking if i am happy with my broadband and have any issues they can help me with!I have got my second line up & running now and am making free local,international & Orange mobile calls through it.So credit where credit’s due-i can’t fault Orange for their broadband service.

    I have a problem with connection and speed all the time. when the connection gets resolved the speed drops to below half a mb. when you ring up customer services (which i assume is in india) they go through the same script and have no log of any previous calls. they then ring you the next day from the uk at their faults team and you feel a little better that you may be getting somewhere but then have to ring them back and ask for the faults team but the guys in india cant put you through! so you go right back to the beginning. i find this very very poor. i have been a customer with orange for nearly fifteen years now and am sorry to say that their broadband service has lost them a customer as soon as my contract is up. which is a shame because i found their phone service quite good. sort your customer service out orange. avoid these guys.

    Since orange brought Wanadoo, all it has ever done is geting slow, slow and even more slower, it even goes offline for a short period of time then reconnects… I have came to a point that moving to another ISP is the only way out. I’ve been recomended BE* Broadband, so i will give them ago.

    slow speeds ,they tell you to do the same thing everytime even when it didnt work the first time your kept on the phone ages and the problem never gets solved and you never get a reduced rate for a reduced service if i relied on orange for my business i would have sunk by now half the time the people at the call centre arent fluent enough with heir english and its sometimes difficult to understand what they are saying

    Thankfully my contract has just come to an end so that I can move provider. Customer support is terrible. I have just been charged £9.99 for a filter which I did not need to resolve my problem. It was sent to me because the advisor in the call centre didn’t know how to resolve the problem. I had to ring up again a week later to get the issue resolved with someone else. I have lost count how many times I have had to ring Orange over the last 12 months and the promised wireless connection could never be achieved. Also I should have 8mb but the speed is very very slow. Less than 2mb definitely!!

    Orange seem to be getting bad press but I’ve never had any problems with them. I’ve even signed my grandparents up to their service! I’ve had mobile from Orange for years so it seemed like the obvious place to go for broadband and I think I made a good choice.
