pathetic internet, wish I could switch

Pro: relatively cheap for O2 customer=£7.50/m

Con: incredibly slow,poor quality, unreliable

Bought this because I had been an O2 phone customer for a few years (then decided to change to 3, as O2 are pretty bad at phones too) and could get it for £7.50/m. Checked the speeds before I bought it, they have a little application on their website where you can check your postcode. They said "up to" 20M, but in my house I could expect around 14. Not even close. On a very good day I can expect 5 or 6. Mostly it's around 1 or 2, but sometimes it's even at 0.4, 0.5 for hours, sometimes even days. If I'd known it was literally going to be this bad I would have gone for something more expensive and worthwhile. In 2012 in the middle of London I should not have to settle for such pathetic speeds. Will never trust O2 ever again, after this contract ends, I will refuse to give them another penny for any service or product of any kind

poor speed and instability

Pro: none

Con: too many

Started off very well 2 years ago with excellent speed and service. Connection has become very unstable in the past few months, requiring frequent calls to customer support. I would switch if i could.

Waste of time

Pro: None to speak of

Con: Dialup would be faster

Been with O2 for over three years now. Started off well with speeds of 13Mb/s+ which was fantastic. Over the last 6 months the speed has steadily dropped to the stage where we now often get less than 50Kb/s. Customer services sent out a new router and did line checks etc and came to the conclusion that there's nothing they can do as it's due to other O2 users abusing the system with p2p downloads / streaming etc. Will give them another week or so then ask for a MAC code and move somewhere than can deliver what it promises.

O2 Broadband Review: OVERCHARGED

I am a new customer to O2 broadband, having taken over the service from the previous owner of my flat. I was shocked to see a connection charge and a line installation charge on my first bill, totaling ~85£. It was only after I phoned them and explicitly asked them to justify the cost, or to mention when it had been communicated to me, that O2 found out that I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY IT as the services were already in place from the previous owner. They promptly adjusted the bill, now it is a sensible £18. Just a word of advise CHECK YOUR BILLS because THEY DON'T. It is embarrassing to them that this mistake happened in the first place.

O2 Broadband Review

I have been happy with their service until I moved house. I booked a move in advance of moving and was told by very helpful person it would be 7-10days outage, I got a txt and email with a date for connection which was 15 days after move day (not quite 10days). This came and went and when I queried it, was advised by another very helpful person that it had been rebooked and would take 6-8 days. I then received a txt and email giving me a date which was 3 weeks after the revised date. This will mean a total of 6 weeks of no service and poor communication, with apparently NO compensation....Service desk people are either ill informed or fobbing me off.....NOT impressed and looking at how I can get out of my contract.

O2 Broadband Review

I have been connected with 02 broadband for over two years now and upgraded my package to all rounder and have to admit I have never had any trouble at all - speed is excellent and value for money is second to none!I also have my home phone line with 02 and get much more value for money with the added extras than I got from BT. I must admit I am a extremely satisfied with my overall package and have recommended 02 to so many family and friends because of the relability of their service and equipment!

O2 Broadband Review

I called O2 to set up broadband and was pleasantly surprised to speak with a cheerful Scottish chap who was able to order me broadband at my new address. i didnt have a BT landline but O2 were able to put one in for me. I knew the cost was £86 from o2 (which is far cheaper than the quote i had from BT) to get a line fitted by O2. The man was able to half the cost for me (even though i was aware i would be paying the higher price!) because i took the middle package. Apparently this is a special del you can only get by calling O2 direct. Tehy sent me text messages to keep me updated and teh engineer showed up whn they said he would. So far i am delighted with the service. Ps- the number i called was 0800 230 0202 to get the half price new line. Apparently you have to take the all rounder plan or above. I also got 6 motnhs free broadband (not the landline though) because i had my O2 mobile for over 2 years! RESULT!

O2 Broadband Review

O2 broadband has been mixed. There are often connection problems and the broadband cuts out several times a session. The speed is pretty poor although the All Rounder package is good value for money. We have recently tried the home move service and the service we have received has been appalling. From setting up for the wrong month to refusing to resend confirmation letters to delivering the router to the wrong address. The issues we have faced have been endless and we are now stuck paying for broadband and a phoneline for a period of time before we move into our new home and face an inconvenience fee if we want to change the date. Not impressed.

O2 Broadband Review

I am really with the customer service provided my the O2 team. Their representatives are incompetent, did not even understand how their own operating process. Was suppose to get my broadband activated today after not able to use it for 3 weeks. Called back and was told that they have misinterpreted the house move process start date and line activation start date. Will definitely leave them after the contract ends. Really unhappy.

O2 Broadband Review

Having been with O2 as my mobile provider for several years, I decided to move from Sky (TV, BB & line rental) as I felt it was not longer good value for money. Although I had to pay a fee (circa £46.00)to O2 for BT to transfer my landline (and the number) from Sky, the transition was faultless with email, sms and MyO2 online keeping me up-to-date as to progress. The changeover was completed on the day advised with no loss of telephone and only a few hours of downtime on the BB. I am now getting over 10Mbsp download and around 0.8Mbps upload compared to 6.0Mbps/0.5Mbps with Sky. Given the distance to my local exchange this is more than acceptable and a big 66% improvement in download speed. I have never had a connection drop-out and O2's UK-based customer service and BB helpdesk staff have been polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Overall I am very satisfied.

O2 Broadband Review

What a rip off. Just got a bill there off O2 for last month and they charged me 160 euro so much for 20 euro a month. They supply you with a counter to check to see how much data usage you are using and according to the data I never went over my 15 GB allowance so dont trust it. I would advise everyone not too give any more money to these rip off merchants because you will end up paying dearly in the long run. Since they make you sign a contract before you sign up they can charge you whatever they want. If you want value for your money dont go near them. Im planning on getting rid of this piece of crap as soon as the contract is up. The customer support is also the worst I have ever seen in any company and because you sign a contract with them there is nothing you can do when they eventually rip you off. George, Ireland

O2 Broadband Review

Having been an O2 Mobile customer for some years I decided to switch from Sky TV (HD), BB & Home 'phone (too expensive overall) to FreeSat (Humax HD PVR) with O2 BB & Home 'phone. The switch-over was faultess with the new router being despatched within a few days & constant SMS keeping me up-to-date. With Sky BB (LLU) I acheived a max throughput of 6.0Mbps on O2 it's 10.44Mbps - a 74% increase. I have a 12 month contract which includes 6 months free BB - I pay £7.66pm line rental). Overall: excellent customer service coupled with reliable - much improved - BB speeds. Highly recommended.

I took O2 Broadband last week and I was up and running within a reasonable time frame. My main problem is that they said I should acheive 17MB download speed but im only getting 9MB. When I spoke to customer services about this, they could only suggest I move my router (which hasnt worked). Also, the one thing they dont mention is upload speed (which is important when playin games online) im currently not even gettin 1MB of upload speed and continuously get cut off.

O2 Broadband Review

I have recently ordered boradband with O2 but never even got to installation! on seeing there was a problem flagged up on the order, I called O2 CS and was told there was a review date for the activation of the home phone because of a problem at the exchange. 2 days passed and I called again as there was no update on the status online and once again was told there was another review date but no one could tell me why this was! 3 subsequent calls (2 of them with 'team managers' who promised I would get free broadband for 2 months as compensation for the inconvenience and I won't mention the fact I am still waiting for one of them to call me back!)yielded nothing! I then emailed the CS team to complain about the time it was taking to move the order forward and the fact I was getting vague explanations from their call centre but their reply urged me to phone the call centre team again! this felt like being moved between pillar and post and so I sent another email to express my dismay at this and threatened I would cancel the order if this was not dealt with- their reply... sorry for the trouble, your order has been cancelled...!! All this would you believe was happening before I even became a paying customer and so I thank my lucky stars and ironically O2 CS teams for being incredibly awful!!

DON'T SIGN UP FOR O2 BROADBAND, and if you are an existing customer please consider leaving as soon as possible, as I intend to do. As with the previous post on here, o2 continue to reduce the service they provide and have no interest in any form of complaint or issue a customer may have. As of my time of posting this, I am now in my 10th day of waiting on the promise of a return phone call from a department manager within o2. When I call customer services to remind them about my return call I'm placed on hold to be put through to the manager, only several minutes later to be told she is not in today, and it appears o2 is without any other manager in her absence. I can only apply common sense and assume they read up on notes of previous calls and decide whether they 'want' to take the call or if it will be too difficult for them as they are all out of 'answers'. What do you do when o2 themselves admit they are wrong, yet refuse to do anything about it? Please consider an alternative broadband supplier. See past o2's glossy exterior and trust me, when a something small goes wrong o2 don't want to know ANYTHING about it. Paul

O2 Broadband Review

O2 were great to start with, having moved from BT. Now I’d move back to BT if I could! O2 capped my broadband after the router’s security had been compromised and someone else was using my broadband. In over 5 years with BT my router was never once compromised and my o2 router was supplied and installed as per o2 instructions. Holding 4 o2 accounts for various o2 products, I asked them if in this instance they might from a customer loyalty point of view coinsider lifting the cap. I have literally spent several hours on the phone with O2. They agree the cap on my broadband is wrong (having eventually got speaking with a senior manager), but the absolute insult is they cannot unrestrict the line because, quote, “it is not possible”. I can however have it unrestricted immediately if I upgrade!!!! I currently hold 4 o2 accounts which will be zero accounts as they come up for renewal over the next number of months. I gave o2 one last opportunity to see common sense on this and respect my customer loyalty to their products over a number of years and after all, there would be no financial cost whatsoever to o2 for my request. My only advice would be to stay away from o2 broadband. Up until a week ago I would have sung the praises of o2 from the roof tops, and actually recommended o2 to a good number of others who signed up. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR O2 BROADBAND!!!

Delivery of our broadband box was two weeks late even after repeated phone calls to chase it and having to give passwords that we had never set up (and had no idea what they were). When we finally got the box we spent another week calling technical support to get it to work. The actual connection is poor and downloads slow. Though the price was cheaper than other companies I'd say it's not worth the hassle.

A joke, yes but I'm not laughing

I found the broadband service to be quite bad, the service will be ok for a while, but then I'm cut off, something that happens all the time. The email too is problematic. I have a few email addresses using pop3; they all work without any hitches except for O2 which shows errors 7 times out of 10. The McAfee software that they provide is more trouble than its worth, though being correctly installed and registered, it will not update and tells me to buy it. My experience with this company has been a headache from the start. My advice would be to stay well clear. It's a pity I could not have read this advice before purchase.

Hugely disappointed. I switched from BT because of price on 26.7.10 and still have no internet connection from o2 (over 3 weeks later). Their customer service are very friendly but are either technically incompetent or massively understaffed. They never ring back when they promise they will and I have spent hours on hold or repeating the same info to different people - and if anyone else from O2 suggests I change the filters to fix my problem I will lose it!!! Basically, what seems like a good deal is a total nightmare and if you work from home, as I do, then don't even consider them. Paul Kettell, Hove.

I have been with O2 Home Broadband for about 2yrs on their £10pcm (I am an O2 mobile customer)20MB down, 1.3mpbs upload. O2 braodband used to be superb, very reliable and fast, great CS and very cheap. It was pretty obvious that they would be a victim of their own success so now their website is dire and it's v. difficult to get any CS. Like most service providers nowadays, O2 are fine so long as you don't need any backup but their apparent business model means you get no CS - not really any different from any other broadband provider.

o2 = JOKE

the worst ISP i've ever used, constant disconnects, by constant I mean 3-4 disconnects every 10-20 minutes then a few hours of peace then straight back to the drawing board. Its impossible to play games and they limit your connection for downloading, how can you call something 'unlimited' when you're blatantly limiting it! quite frankly, I am appauled at how this company has treat me as a customer, suing the company would probably be a good start but who wants to go through that! o2 also chanrge rediculous fee's to buyout your contract! £50 for o2 £10-20 for Virgin/BT/Tiscalli!? where does the other £30 come from!? WORST ISP EVER, DO NOT USE.

When it works it's fine but all too often it goes down. Either the wireless connection fails or it fails completely. They sent me a new box but that's no better. Various excuses are made. Someone near me has a system which interferes with mine. My Vista is to blame. I'm too far away from the wireless box (3 metres actually). I'll give them one more go but I think it is a system worth avoiding. The call centre staff are very friendly although I find the Scottish accent difficult (being a West Country man) and often they seem to use pot luck in finding a solution. Some staff are better than others. My advice - stay away if your value your sanity

Changed to O2 in April on the back of high speed and low cost and unlimited usage. The speed is not as high as their line test duggested but still good. line reliability is average not as good as my previous ISP Eclipse. My main complaint is the totally useless support. Very poor suport on start up with modem problems. More recently have been without e-mail for six days and still no help on the problem, spoken to 5 different advisors, no use , 6 promises of call back only 1 acheived and finally advised the technical team wont be able to address my problem for a further 15hrs and no guarantee of a response from support. Totally useless; dont use.

O2 Broadband Review

In june 09 I signed up for o2 access, it was a fast service offering everything i needed. Within six month their service had totaly went down the toilet. Peak times speeds can be sub dial-up, even off peak speeds are starting to slow down. Im told this is due to the service being oversubscribed. When O2 introduced trafic management to address the slowups, which the blamed on file shearing, some web servives became unuseable! Many ports where throttled to 48k or lower, when i complained and was fobed off with the most appaling excuses. this blocked some of the kids online games, spotify ect. UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS When is unlimited not unlimited? when its O2! Download too much and you get a call thretened disconection. There is no way you can check usage on the O2 website, no guide as to what is fair to download despite these being in the OFCOM Code of Practice. looks like they trying to solve there congestion problems by getting rid of there customers! I was inclines to think the whole service is run by a bunch of clowns but the O2 LLU services suffers from none of these problems, this accounst for the current jeckel and hyde O2 reviews. Im leaving O2 ASAP, their current service is the worst I have ever has from a ISP

I have been with O2 for about 15 months now and I can't fault them. All the call centres are uk based The staff are as pleasant and respectful as all the lovely staff in far off lands, but they know exactly how the systems work and are able to help immediately. I had difficulty setting up which was dealt with politely and efficiently. I cannot fault them. I almost left to go to BT as they phoned and offered me a good deal but when i called them to ask what they could do they offered me 3 free months and they were so nice,as always, that I realised it was worth paying a little more for the pleasure. Dont do massive downloads so not a key factor for me. It seems fast enough! Highly recommended.

O2 is a joke

Last weekend, yesterday and today download speed is about 25 kbps. No chance for streaming, youtube very slow, internet sites so-so. Good speeds happen when you're at work; afternoons and weekends are a joke. The worst thing is I cannot complain because there are no technical problems - at some working days about 10am-4pm speeds are really good. So what, most people are at school/work. Nowadays you can watch more and more stuff without downloading, just streaming. With o2 - forget about it. Downloading also takes ages unless you do it while at work/school. It's useless.

I only really connected with O2 because my cousin could get a discount [£7.99 for 20meg, static IP] and I must say I have been more than pleased with my experience. If I couldn't get a family discount, I'd still choose to pay full price for O2. I had a tiny problem with the router at first, but this was easily rectified by the friendly & efficient tech support. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended. [Run on MacPro/ OS X 10.6]

I am very disappointed with O2. It started from the start, first the broadband box (and you can only use their box) didn’t arrive in time. 2 weeks later it was there. The connection was not as good than my previous provider but because bulldog/tiscali stopped performing well I moved to O2. Biggest mistake ever. 9 months later, I moved out of my apartment, finished my contact early with them, and because I terminated the contract early I had a fee of about £50 in comparison BT was £15 which was for the same length of time. In December I sent back the broadband box and now in the end of February I get an email plus text saying I haven’t returned it and in case I won’t return it I will be charged £50. This is outrages. On top of this I can still log into O2’s website but all my bills were deleted from the day after my contract finished with them so I couldn’t view my last bill with them which was only available online. It seems they have run out of cash flow and they now do everything to get more assets. I wouldn’t have my broadband from O2 again, they aren’t good service provider for broadband. I am very dissappointed in O2.

Performance over the last 6 months is terrible. Speeds in afternoon/evenings down to around 40 kbps. Unusable. O2's answer - we are trying to increase capacity and we've been trying to sort this out for 6 months and it will take several more. Do you want your MAC code. Lack of planing and trying to keep costs down make this a diabolical unusable offering.

Been with O2 since April 2009 - I live a fair way from the exchange - but the support team got me a throughput of 1200kbps at peak times - good enough. Its now Feb 2010 and since Nov 2009 - my peak throughput has been 200kbps . Customer services initially said I had to fullfill my contract - but now they are happy to let me go - - O2 has got a serious capacity problem because it offers unlimited downloads - and those users are allegedly going to be weaned off the system . Anyway in the meantime - I'm paying broadband costs for little better than dial up service .... it wont get any better !!!!!!!!!!!!

Moved from ZEN Internet (top notch service but pricey at £25); moved to O2 LLU 24mb service (getting about 11.5mb) which is what I'd expect at my distance from exchange. LLU (ADSL2) 24mb service is fine as O2 can control their own equipment in your exchange. I think those on O2 8mb (ADSL) tend to have more issues than ADSL2. I've not had any problems. The ADSL2 modem sets itself up (o2 pre-configured firmware - dummed down for dummies type). The box itself has proven temperemental for a few folk (like me), but others love its SNR tolerance, speed and wireless range. Oh, and you get to talk to British folk.

I used to recommend o2 broadband to anyone looking for a new ISP, but recently the service has become a joke. In the evening my speed drops to approx 256kb, thats 1/2 the speed of the original broadband like 8yrs ago! My upload is normally higher than my download. Ping is 140ms tops and I have had to take a break from online gaming as its made it unplayable, by the time it gets through warcraft you are talking 300-1000ms from 40-80ms a month or so ago. They have tried to shape the ports and cocked it up according to the technical line, I would not sign up to this if it was free at the moment, honestly!

Then was great for the first couple of months until towards the end of October when things started to really slow down. Pings are over 140ms and my download speeds vary from 0.3mbps to 3.5mbps. I've contacted customer service and they tell me that they are working on traffic shaping which was supposed to be finished by the end of October but it's still all over the place. I've got to say I had nothing but problems. When I first connected the speed was so slow it felt like dial up! Then when we used the phone we got background noise so the phone was unusable. I let O2 know have the difficulties and they sent a new modem. I tried that but no luck. O2 insisted I open the BT box and try plugging in to somewhere else, or they would not do anything else. This took a number of months! I refused to mess around with the BT box and continued to pay. However I decided why should I pay for this when it didn't work and I informed O2. All I got in return was a patronising person telling me I had to take it on board it was my problem! Luckily I have another line and I still had my old Pipex account that worked fine. However they are chasing me for the cancellation fee! All I can say if O2 is working fine great....but if you have a problem you are own your own!!!...that's my experience. They are now sending me to their debt collection service maybe if they concentrated on making their system work and positively sorting out problems it might be better!! Maybe this shows you get what you pay for! As soon as my wife’s and my phone O2 contract expire, next month they are going too….I feel that strongly!

Brilliant ! We have been with Eclipse for a number of years now and should have changed ages ago. Within 7 working days of giving O2 the MAC code we were up and running. Easiest set-up ever! Its like a different Era on the internet now. Its super fast and doesn't drop the line like Eclipse. I can listen to internet radio now without the line dropping all the time. At the prices they charge you would be mad not to look into changing to O2. We are on a bundled exchange which limits who we can use. But with 3 months free and 17.99 a month after, no-one else could provide unlimited download usage at this price. If you are unbundled its even cheaper at 7.99. Would recommend highly! Don't suffer like we did for years with a slow, unreliable provider - switch!

Best broadband out there. I have their Pro package, the speed is not that fast but a lot faster and cheaper than BT (where I paid about £25pm) etc. (not fast due to BT line, not O2/Be Unlimited equipment) BT was the worst experience ever (engineers did not show up, their customer service people kept transferring me without speaking, hanging up, rude) simply I was disgusted to see how can they even exist. O2 has excellent customer service (so far my experience; I also have phone contracts with them), their pro package apart from being up to 21mbps offers dedicated phone support (when you call from landline to their freephone, it jumps the queue), you'll get wireless box III (n-enabled). You get also first 30 days money back guarantee. I had some issues, but they were always resolved efficiently unlike with terrible TalkTalk or BT...

I had a 20Mb O2 broadband at my previous home and it was excellent. I never had problems at all with that. Now at my new home I want to set up a broadband again and I wanted to read about other suppliers but as I can see O2 is the best.. :) And of course 'BE' but it's a bit expensive. Anyway the O2 broadband is coming from the BE so it's the same for better price. I chose O2 again! :) ( actually the O2 Wireless BOX II the router that O2 gives is not so good. It has always disconnected from internet. After I've bought a Netgear router then I never had any problems with the service! )

O2 Broadband Review

I had mobile broadband with o2 and then had a bt line put in at home. I phoned o2 to ask if i could cancel my mobile broadband and take out home broadband, they said if i did this i would have to pay the remainder of the mobile broadband contract, which i wasn't prepared to do, so instead they said that they would give me home broadband free for a year, as long as i kept paying the contract for the mmobile broadband. The service i have received so far has been fantastic, the speed is excellent as is the customer support. The customer services with regard mobile broadband, and for mobile phones which i also have with o2 is brilliant, they resolve your problems speedily and the staff are always friendly. I can't praise O2 enough, every contact i have had with them has been positive.

O2 Broadband Review

Being an O2 customer, I decided to go for the Broadband package... I was surprised to find they only charged £7.50 a month which is really cheap. I chose the 8mb package and was quoted Unlimited downloads. I have been wary of companies that quote this, however O2 was the only company that was true to their word. I used to be a virgin customer, and am a very heavy downloader and I used to be capped by Virgin... but O2 have never capped me even though I download more now than I did with virgin. I was quoted an estimate of up to 5mb, but when I tested my connection I was getting 6.5mbps which is more than what they quoted and I think that's brilliant lol. To date I have had no problems with O2, and I was setup in just a week. I recommend them ESPECIALLY FOR HEAVY DOWNLOADERS :). The wireless router is free, and it works with my iPhone and PS3, GAME ON!!! ^^.

O2 Broadband Review

In a Word. Fantastic! I spent hours looking into the best isp before taking the plunge..looking at reviews and asking around etc etc...and O2 seemed to come out on top...so I signed up and I am so glad I did! The connection is fast and reliable and so easy to set up. But best of all is the customer service. I needed some advice about the wireless connection and home network and they were really quick to reply and so helpful and understandable> Its such a refreshing change to find a company that are true to their promises. Thoroughly recomended. Dont go for the cheapest. Youll end up spending more in the end in time and frustration. I'm an O2 Convert!

I have been with o2 home broadband since Jan this year. the set up was so easy. Got updates by texts as when router came and when connection date was. It is so fast. I was with sky before and could make a coffee by time a page had loaded but with o2 it is like turning a page in a book. I will be staying with o2 as so cheap and best value out there. No wonder they are number 1 in broadband and mobile phones

O2 Broadband Review

Just like to say the O2 broadband I have is excellent and beyond what I expected. I live in a fairly busy town and ordered the premium package. I was kept informed all the way by txt mesages the status of my order it was activated on the date they said. Using the Ethernet cable I am kept at a constant speed of 17-18meg even in peak hours, thats 2meg a second downloading files!. I do not currently have a wireless adapter. All I can say is I am highly delighted with O2 and the internet is lighting fast now compared to my awful USB dongle I had on a 2 year contract..I never got above 300kbps with that!

O2 Broadband Review

O2 Broadband are the first ISP I have gone with (I have lived alone now for around a year and a half, and have been with them for most of this time). I have to say that I have never been disappointed once. I am somewhat lucky in the fact that I live relatively close to the exchange. I signed up for the 16meg package and got the full 16meg! download speeds never drop below an average of between 11 and 14 meg, even during peak times. In this period of times, I have only experienced two problems (aproximately) and when I have called the customer service line I have never been holding long, always through to UK callcentre, speedy and accurate advice, and I would be sorted in no time. My father is with TalkTalk broadband and they are absolutely foul. I am with them for my landline calls, as they are the best value for money, but their broadband speed/reliability is horrid, and their customer service is even worse. I HIGHLY recommend O2 broadband to anyone with a physical BT Landline.

O2 Broadband Review

I highly recommend O2 Broadband 1- Open your broadband router box; enclosed disk makes installation fantastically simple even for newcomers. It has step-by-step easy pictorial connection guide this applies to wireless connection too. 2- Connection within 30 minutes of opening the box. 3- Exceptionally competent technical support. 4- Situated in UK and available 24/7 and contact number is free of charge. 5- Calls answered within few minutes 6- Billing department very competent, efficient and courteous. What a refreshing contrast from services “supplied” by Pipex/Tiscali.

I ordered my o2 home broadband on the 17th of March, Got my router on the 18th and it was up and running on the 20th, 3 Days, Cant say that for BT. I am on the premium package and get between 10-11 meg sync. Customer service always helpful and uk based. Had a few problems and they were sorted within 10mins. Plus i get £5 for being an o2 paygo customer. Plus they done throttle the speed at all.

Very good service

The customer support I’ve received is second to none and the speed of the connection I get is spot on. The only problem I had has been with O2 having problems with their DNS servers at one point. Compared to my previous ISP (Tiscal) O2 are in a different league.

Happy with O2

O2 is my first broadband provider. Value for Money: It's great value for money, especially if you're an exisiting O2 pay and go customer. You just need to top up £10 every three months to keep the discounted rate going. Speed: Speeds are very good. They test your line for the first ten days after being connected where they send the fastest possible signal through - I synched at over 17Mbps before falling in time to 7Mbps - in line with the 'upto 8Mbps' package I had selected. O2 uses the ADSL2+ network used by Be, which about 2/3 of the UK can get and its faster than normal ADSL broadband. Customer Service: Customer service is free and UK based. Reliability: It took me under 30 minutes to set the broadband equipment provided up - just put the CD-ROM in and followed the instructions! All the router settings are done automatically. Did have one short outage of broadband, customer service said it was an exchange based problem (got through to customer service without waiting in a queue!)

O2 - does what it says on the tin!

O2 are (one and a half days in!) far and away the best ISP I have experienced so far - and I've used several - most recently Pipex, whose customer service has been appalling. I signed up for Standard - up to 8Meg, which is plenty fast enough for my needs. The set up was really straightforward - and I have quite a complex home network, which the O2 box recognised and set up automatically. I didn't use the set-up disk, and the only thing to be manually configured was the SMTP setting in my mail client. I had to contact customer support over a minor matter, and they were excellent. I'm getting almost 6Mb download and 1Mb upload, which is three times what I got with Pipex on standard ADSL, for one third of the cost. Brilliant, and thoroughly recommended.

Very Impressed

O2 broadband is fantastic. It's been great for online gaming with good upload speeds in addition to the impressive download speeds. I love the text messages that take you though the set up step by step - I had the connection up and running in no time. O2 are miles better than the last 2 ISPs I've been with and I can't see myself switching to anyone else, they get top marks from me.
