Customer service? What's that??

I have just cancelled Madasafish due to moving home. They have imposed a £25 charge for disconnection that I wasn’t aware of. Their “customer options” number is only open between 9 and 5:30 when most people are at work. I have been a customer of Madasafish and their dial up predecessor for over six years, and been paying way over the odds for the last couple of years but stayed as the service was reliable. Bad mistake. If they had any decent customer service values they would be doing teir uppermost to keep me as a customer and using them in my new property but all they care about is screwing more money out of me now - nasty and vindictive - stay well away.

I was originally with Easily - fairly recently this was transferred to Madasafish when they merged. I have always found the customer service quite poor but recently they have excelled themselves. Today is October 13th and I have been without e-mail since 2nd. They don’t know why and don’t seem able to resolve it - I just keep being told that I am the only one affected and they are ‘investigating’ and ‘escalating’ it. Where to?

Madasafish Broadband Review

I’ve been with Madasafish for over 10 years, originally with dial-up then broadband for the last 3 years. Had a few problems when I first got BB but then who doesn’t?. Very good customer support, never had any problems with reliability. Average speed around 4Mb which is plenty for me.

Madasafish Service

Madasafish customer service is pathetic - am sure that they are unaware of the term. I have been with them for some time as they offered a decent product at a reasonable price. The problem comes though if you have to contact them for any reason. They took the incorrect amount from my account without telling me, then when I called them to find out what was going on they said - a refund has been processed but will take 10-15 days for it to go through. What a joke !! they are quick enough to take your money but when you want it back due to their error it is a different matter. I decided to escalate to a manager as I was so annoyed but was passed to someone who was pretenting to be a manager - this annoyed me even more. In the end I have had to write a letter to them. Complete and total jokers the lot of them - do not use if you want decent service - the sad thing is they are owned by BT - take from that what you wish !!!

Madasafish Broadband Review
Reviewed by

I originally signed up with Freenetname on a dial up connection. After several takeovers and upgrades I now have Madasafish Max Broadband. Since it was acquired by BT in 2007 the service has seriously declined. For 8 of the last 12 weeks my downstream rate has been approx 110Kbps on a 8M service. Customer service’s standard response to carry out the same basic tests over and over and over…… My speed and Customer Support ratings would be zero stars if that was allowed

Madasafish was highly rated when I took the contract summer 2008.
But I find speed a real problem - watching TV iPlayer is practically
impossible. “Up to 8mbps” means in my case 4.93 - only just over
half that. I have complained but I don’t expect any improvement so
I’ll switch as soon as my contract allows. They aren’t even very cheap.

It took 3 months to get connected during which I had 2 routers, 3 visits from BT Openreach engineers testing the line and a visit from a local computer consultant. All of whom told me the same thing: it wasn’t a problem with my line or computer but was a problem with the authentification at the Madasafish end. The internet worked for a few months, even though connection kept dropping out, and then it gave up. Nearly 3 weeks now, and still not restored. I’ll be getting my MAC code of them soon.

Madasafish used to be excellent but the last few months the speed of my connection as been really eratic, fast one day and slow the next. I’m slightly relcutant to change as they have been really good until recently and their customer service is very good.

I’ve read other negative reviews and have to say I’m very happy with Madasafish. I’ve had no problems with the connection in 2 years. Call centre staff where helpful and efficient when I called them to resolve a billing problem.
