Finally leaving BE Unlimited
I have a static ip address (makes no difference at an extra £1.00 per month)
I joined Be unlimited purely for its top gaming awards, as im a BIG gammer, but i have to say the be box drops out so many times it had become a joke.
im on my 2nd Be router as there was a fault with the 1st BE router over heating (the fan is at the bottom of the router, why?)
The 2nd Be box is just doing the same thing and still dropping out. (line has been checked by a BT engineer, and all ok, at a cost of £130.00)
my download speed is 4.7meg but during peak times it can go down to 3.7meg.
Customer service is very good, but im more interested in my download & upload speed and constant connection for gaming.
what a let down
Be broadband are the best! Its that simple, the customer services where the best, the speed was always at 19 meg. Just an all round good provder.
Flawless provider, there is no
better provided in the UK than
BE. 20Mbps speeds for less than
£20 a month, and unlimited
downloads too!
I’ve used Be now for 3 years, in
3 different locations (I’m a
student. I had some difficulties
with poor speeds last year, but
that was due to damage to the BT
cable I was on (took an awful lot
of fighting to get BT to repair
it). Be’s tech support was
excellent and very helpful, as
for speeds I’ve gotten 70%-100%
of my advertised speed anytime
I’ve checked. I must have
downloaded 2-3 TERABYTES of stuff
and never had any complaints from
BE.
If BE is available in your area
there is noone better. If you do
have major speed issues it will
be the bt phoneline your on
I had BE Broadband for the 6 months I lived in Blackpool and it was the best service I have ever experienced.
It was amazingly reliable, and if there was ever any downtime, not only would they email me, they would text me almost a week in advance to let me know, and it would always be at a convenient time too.
The speeds were incredible. We were quite close to the exchange so could receive the full 24Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up on BE Pro. I must have put through atleast 1TB per month, half up and half down, and it never EVER slowed below the full 24Mbps!
I ran several servers down the connection also, and they could have been on a SLA’d line, you couldn’t tell they weren’t.
The customer service was very good. I never had a technical problem, but when I had to cancel before the end of my contract they were very understanding. It wasn’t too much to buy out, and they even said if they ever come to the exchange at my home town, I can use that cancellation money towards free service!
I recommend them to anyone! It is worth the extra money to go with them, even though its not that expensive! You would be a fool if they are at your exchange not to go with them!
Awesome is all I can say, I’ve been with Be on their Unlimited package for a year and a half and can honestly say they are the best ISP by far. They are always looking to resolve any issues you have and the speeds are amazing and never throttled etc. I get 17-18mbps on a 24mbps package. You do pay a slight premium over other ISPs but there is a reason for that and that is Be are miles ahead of any ISP on all fronts!
Promising start with texts and emails to tell me when the service was about to begin and then…nothing but trouble. The service keeps cutting out. I wish I had never left O2.
I have now been with BE for nearly two years. I would not pick anyone eles the service is supperb. I live in the Slough area just around the corner from there HQ.
They do not provide broadband to anyone with a line further than 5km from the exchange. Luckily I’m 4.9km away and have still been able to get 2.5mb on my line.
I found everything simple to setup once the line is enabled you just plug in the BeBox and it works no config.
Being so far from the Exchange I have had two connection issues in two years (speed down to 1.2mb and loss of connection). I raised a support case on their website and these issues where dealt with. Once they asked me to call them, I got strait though and talked to someone knowledgeable, problem solved.
This service is monthly running and can be canceled at any time.
Would fully recommend
BE are really excellent - after
experiencing dreadful service (very poor
router amongst other things) from SKY I
changed to BE. You can get through to
customer service straight away, speeds
are very good and if anything goes wrong
they give you money back quickly and
without quarrel. The 9 month contracts
are also great for students.
The speed and reliability are excellent. If you have an issue the customer suppport is very very good. Well qualified and always trying to find the solution. Would defenately recommend!
I’ve been with BE since October of 2008, and now finally getting off their hook in July, 2009.
This has been a total nightmare. The connection was unstable, dropping many times an hour, which caused me to lose hours and hours of work (I work via VPN, and every time BE drops, VPN drops. Takes 15 minutes to reconnect, plus ocassionally I’ve lost data because of the drops)
The problem turned out to be the wireless interface on their router. It’s a systematic problem with the BE router. They’ve known about it all the time, but their worthless tech support kept wasting my time trying to troubleshoot the line.
After months of nightmare, I ended up stretching ethernet accross the floor and shutting off their wireless interface. I can’t wait till I finally get a real provider.
By the way, I’ve opened a dispute with them via CISAS, because they’ve known about the problem, but did not want to admit it, because it would mean that they need to recall all their be boxes. They were hoping that I will eventually stop bothering them if their tech support wastes enough of my time.
I’ve been with Be for 2 years now - speed is phenomenal, and they
even reduced the cost of my package without my having to ask. The
help often doesn’t have wonderful English but is quite determined -
to the point of taking over my computer from their end (with my
permission, of course) to fix a connection problem. This is my 4th
ISP and by miles the best.
no probs with Be ive recently changed over to them and left BT as my service from BT was in one word disgusting poor quality so gr8 relief wen i actually got my Be broadband going they estimated i wud get between 111 and 14 meg i actually get closer to 20 meg so if any thing its gr8 u can have ur db highered or lowered to obtain faster connections or lower it for more stable connections the CC is good not gr8 but they do a lot better than most isp’s to sum up Be i cant see my self going else where in a hurry gr8 products and u get wot they say u will get if not more like myself wud and have recommended to family and friends gr8 for online gaming etc or torrents and it really is unlimited!!!! gr8 stuuf i wud say best isp in UK by far 10 out of 10 ps no down time or drop outs in speeds either
