Vodafone builds more stores as mobile broadband interest takes off

September 16th, 2008 by Rob

Announcements were made recently that Vodafone will be opening 50 new sites in the UK due to the rapidly developing mobile broadband market.

Mobile service provider Vodafone has announced that it will be opening fifty more stores in the UK as the interest in Mobile Internet Services (MIS) reaches new levels. It has advised that every new branch will contain an area devoted to business customers and it is offering these users the option of trialing the mobile broadband service before they decide to take out a contract.

The building of these new outlets on the high street will be beginning in September and will increase the number of shops Vodafone currently has to four hundred which means customers will soon be even more likely to find their nearest Vodafone store is right on their doorstep.

The initial locations for the shops will be in the White City development area of London and also in Bristol Cabot Circus with future locations to be made available at a later date. This comes on top of a recruitment drive that was also announced earlier this year by Vodafone with plans to increase its staff numbers by three hundred and which now means that further staff will soon be needed for the new sites.

Another provider who is currently taking advantage of the mobile broadband boom is Orange with its plans to increase its number of shops on the high street with a further sixty stores planned. Orange also advised that it will also be looking to improve the levels of customer service it offers its customers as well.

Although these two companies are the only ones to have made announcements so far, it would seem likely that many of their competitors will be following suit in an effort to provide their own customers with an increased level of accessibility and service.
