Mobile broadband services improved by Virgin

The media and communications giant Virgin Media has decided to offer consumers access to better and faster mobile broadband services according to recent reports.

Whilst mobile broadband services have enjoyed great success over the past couple of years one of the main problems that can affect the benefits that mobile broadband service users are enjoying are the speeds that are available, with many mobile broadband providers offering pretty impressive advertised speeds but the customer achieving only a fraction of the speeds that is advertised.

It is already a well known fact that the speeds that are achieved by the average mobile broadband service user are much lower than the speeds that are available to the average fixed line broadband user. Although mobile broadband services offer a great deal of flexibility and freedom for broadband users the low speeds available can be an off-putting aspect and can make a real difference to the capabilities of the user.

However, a number of mobile broadband service providers have been trying to improve upon the speeds that they are able to offer with mobile broadband, with Vodafone being amongst the first to offer higher speed mobile broadband service.

It has now been reported that the media and broadband giant Virgin Media is looking to improve upon mobile broadband services for customers by offering faster speeds of up to 7.2Mbps with its mobile broadband dongles. Whilst a  number of mobile broadband service providers offer relatively fast speeds many consumers are only able to achieve a fraction of the advertised speed according to industry officials. Recent speed testing studies showed that in many cases mobile broadband customers were receiving actual speeds that were way lower than the speeds that had been advertised by their mobile broadband service providers.
