Virgin Media Cable Broadband Services Fully Restored
Virgin Media cable broadband customers in the UK can heave a sigh of relief with the nation-wide failure of the network now addressed effectively. The services across the nation have been restored, after anger over the disruption filled social media space.

The disruption and consequent black out of services happened on Tuesday when almost the whole of the UK normally sits down to surf the internet – between 17:00 to 20:00 GMT.
The company swung into action and fixed the issue. Virgin Media also made it a point to apologise to customers via a statement that read:
“Our customers may have experienced some problems getting online yesterday evening. Our engineers quickly fixed the problem and service was restored by 8pm. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
Social media rage had poured in soon after the black out and many went ballistic even asking Virgin media to try turning it off and on again.
Significantly, the issue of black out arose just days after the company had announced that it would be turning up the speed dial on its broadband service. Virgin plans to customer speeds two-fold over the next 18-month period.
The disruption, which affected around five million customers, was attributed to a routing hardware fault.
After restoration of service, Virgin has requested customers to try powering down the router for five minutes and then turning it back on to re-establish their connection, in case they found reconnecting tough.
