Virgin Media continues to impress with broadband speeds

The results of recent broadband speed tests have shown that Virgin Media is continuing to lead the way and impress with its broadband speeds, which are twice that of the national average.

Broadband speeds are very important to people these days, with more and more internet users now focussing on speeds when choosing the perfect broadband plan for their needs. The broadband speeds available can vary based on a number of factors including the provider that you choose for your broadband service.

Results were recently released in relation to broadband speed tests that were carried out over the course of August, with the average speed coming in at 8.06Mbps with average upload speeds coming in at 1.21Mbps. Virgin Media, however, led the way when it came to broadband speeds, with its average broadband speed coming in at 16.97Mbps, which is double the national average.

Not only did Virgin manage to offer twice the national average download speed for August but it also did the same with upload speeds, with its average upload speeds coming in at 2.48Mbps. Its closest rival on the league table was Eclipse Internet, which had an average download speed of 7.15Mbps with BT coming in at third place with an average of 6.99Mbps.

Virgin Media has been providing innovation and leadership when it comes to broadband for a number of years and has become well know for offering high speed broadband through its fibre based networks. Many people who choose broadband from Virgin are those that require much faster speeds for activities such as online gaming or streaming data.
