Analysts stated that thousands of broadband speed tests were carried out and the results showed that Virgin Media was taking the lead with regards to speeds.
An industry official involved in the testing stated: “Virgin Broadband have finally overtaken O2 broadband as the UK’s fastest average download speed supplier. Data shows that the average download speed for a Virgin user is now 6.13Mbps as compared to 5.32Mbps for O2.” The report indicates that for the month of September Virgin Media enjoyed taking the lead against other high speed providers including O2 and Be Broadband.
