Online movie service launched by Virgin Media
With more and more broadband users not watching their favourite movies online communications and broadband giant Virgin Media has decided to cater for their needs through the provision of an online movie service.
For many people that have broadband access watching movies via the Internet has become an everyday occurrence, and it is predicted that with higher speed broadband set to spread across the UK over the next few years a rising number of people will be watching TV shows and movies via the Internet rather than via their television service.
This is something that a number of Internet Service providers have picked up on, and in order to meet rising demand for this type of service have taken measures to increase the availability of online content. One leading communications and broadband giant, Virgin Media, has recently announced that it is launching its first online movie service.
The new online movie service from Virgin Media is simply called Virgin Media Online Movies, and the service is set to be available from May 6th. Users of the service will be able to stream movies directly to their PCs, laptops, and television sets, and they will be able to rent each of the movies for a period of forty eight hours at a time, giving them plenty of time to watch the movie that they select.
An official from Virgin Media said that the provider already offered plenty of choice when it came to on demand movies for television service subscribers, and wanted to do the same for online customers. He said: “Virgin Media already offers the UK’s leading movies on demand TV service and we wanted to bring the same high-quality, easy-to-use experience to film fans online.”
