New Persimmon homes get Virgin cable

It has been announced that the broadband and media giant Virgin has reached a deal with the builder Persimmon Homes, and will be equipping new build homes with ready built access to fibre broadband, television, and landline services.

For many people that move into a new home getting connected to a provider for their home phone, television services, and broadband can be time consuming and frustrating, and with these services being so essential to many people it is an inconvenience that they have to ensure in order to get their services connected and sorted out.

However, for some movers this is a problem that could be eliminated following a deal that has been struck between the media and entertainment giant Virgin Media and the property builder Persimmon Homes. Under the agreement new Persimmon homes will come ready equipped with access to Virgin’s cable television, home phone, and fibre based broadband services, saving consumers the time and hassle of having to arrange connections when they move in.

Around ten thousand homes a year are built in the UK by Persimmon, and selected homes will come with ready built connections to Virgin’s services. With the many other things that people have to deal with when moving into a new home, this is a hassle that could save them time and hassle, letting them focus on other things rather than trying to sort their television, phone, and internet services out.

Steve Carlin, Virgin Media’s Director of Sales for New Build, said: “Virgin Media’s partnership with Persimmon Homes can take a little bit of the stress out of setting up home as well as allow more people to enjoy our next-generation services as soon as they move in. We all want to be able to watch, share and access our entertainment at home and Virgin Media’s services really help customers to make the most of their technology.”
