Virgin Media has announced that it is going to start rolling out super-fast broadband with speeds of up to 100Mbps, which will be made available to over twelve and a half million homes.

When it comes to getting high speed broadband services many consumers decide to opt for Virgin Media as their Internet service provider, as they can then enjoy speeds of up to 50Mbps with their service. For most people speed is a big issue when choosing a broadband service, which is why Virgin Media has steadily seen its customer base grow as the demands of broadband users continue to grow.

It seems that Virgin Media is set to enjoy continued success when it comes to its broadband services, as it has announced that it is going to be rolling out its super-fast broadband service with speeds of up to 100Mbps to over twelve and a half million homes. Those that wish to subscribe to the service will be able to enjoy super-fast broadband speeds, and this includes existing customers who wish to upgrade. The service should be available by 2011.

Officials from Virgin Media said that tech savvy users could really benefit from the high speed service, and this included those that use their broadband to download a lot of content, gamers who need faster speeds to play their games effectively online, and many others that want to enjoy the benefits of high speed broadband access that is twenty four times faster than the average UK broadband speed.

Neil Berkett, the Chief Executive of Virgin Media, said: “There is nothing we can’t do with our fibre optic cable network, and the forthcoming launch of our flagship 100Mb service will give our customers the ultimate broadband experience. We want to keep giving our customers the very best broadband available, by investing in technological innovation and transforming the experience they have when they are online. The launch of this service will be a historic moment and will mean the UK will be comparable to other leading broadband nations.”
