Businesses tweeting with customers says Virgin
Business broadband provider Virgin Media Business has recently stated that a rising number of companies are now using micro-blogging site Twitter to communicate with customers.
The advancements with broadband technology over recent years has seen more and more people flocking to the internet for all sorts from reasons, from online gaming and shopping to using social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The popularity of social networking sites has soared over the past few years, and it appears that this is something that many businesses have caught on to.
According to the business broadband provider Virgin Media Business a rising number of businesses are now using social networking and micro-blogging sites to keep in touch with and communicate with customers. Research carried out by the broadband giant suggested that the most popular of these sites amongst corporate users appeared to be Twitter.
A study was carried out recently by Virgin Media Business, and the results of the survey showed that around thirty three percent of corporate users were communicating with customers via Twitter, which just pipped Facebook to the post, with thirty two percent of corporate users communicating with customers via the social networking site.
An official from Virgin Media Business said that businesses were now using a wide range and combination of tools that were designed to reach their target markets. He said: “British businesses have been quick to see the opportunities that lie within social media and are helping lead the world in targeting this new form of media.”
