Virgin Media offers quick Internet access to mobile broadband users
Communications giant Virgin Media has now rolled out its faster mobile broadband service, which will enable people on the go to get online quickly and conveniently.
There are now many network service providers that offer mobile broadband services to consumers in the UK, and with the growing popularity of this technology amongst those that want to be able to get online whilst out and about the rivalry between the various providers has become increasing fierce. However, one downfall with most of the mobile broadband providers is that the speeds that their customers are achieving tend to be far lower than the speeds that they are advertising.
One of the players in the mobile broadband market is the communications giant Virgin Media. The media giant has announced that it has rolled out its faster mobile broadband service, and hopes to be able to provider consumers with much faster mobile broadband speeds. The mobile broadband service from Virgin Media is set to offer subscribers speeds of up to 7Mbps.
The speeds that were offered by the mobile broadband provider earlier was around half of the speed that is now being offered by Virgin Media. Consumers will now be able to enjoy these far faster speeds through the Virgin Media dongle or broadband wireless adaptor. As with other mobile providers the actual speeds achieved by the customer will be based on a number of factors such as their location.
Virgin is offering the service on an eighteen months contract, and new customers can select from packages that will cost ten pounds a month for 1GB of data, and fifteen pounds a month for 3GB. For existing customers the prices will be slightly lower, at eight pounds a month for 1GB and twelve pounds a month for 3GB.
