According to a recent report a partnership between the communications giant, Virgin Media, and Google could result in improved communications on broadband packages from Virgin.

A recent report has suggested that there could be improved communications and storage facilities on offer to customers of Virgin broadband as the result of a partnership that the communications giant has developed with Google. The announcement of the partnership was made this week by Virgin Media, and the improved online data facilities and enhanced email services that will stem from the partnership could really benefit its broadband customers.

Virgin Media has said that around four million home broadband customers will benefit from the partnership that it has formed with Google as a result of these improvements and enhancements. Customers will now be able to access over 7GB of storage, and will be able to register for up to ten Virgin Media email addresses per household.

Business users with Virgin Media are amongst those that will be able to benefit from the improvements that will stem from the partnership, and this is through the use of Google Partner Edition Apps, which will means that businesses can use the search engines communications applications with the domains of their choice.

One official said that the move would add to the media giant’s commitment to customer satisfaction stating: “With email so important in everyday life, we’re delighted to be working with Google and launching a brand new, feature-rich and easy to use email service.” He added that Virgin would be developing more services alongside Google as well as “continuing to deliver market-leading communications and entertainment to our customers.”
