College benefits from Virgin’s high speed broadband

Students at one college in Hertford are set to benefit from having access to high speed broadband as a result of services being provided by the communications and media giant Virgin through its Virgin Media Business sector.

Whilst many students can only live in hope of being able to get access to faster broadband to aid their education as well as entertainment facilities students at one college in Hertford are set to enjoy the many benefit of high speed broadband access, with the service being supplied by the business arm of the communications and media giant Virgin Media.

Two new building at Hertford Regional College are benefitting from high speed broadband access thanks to Virgin Media Business, which has launched services in the buildings. This will enable fourteen thousand students to access the high speed broadband service and enjoy the variety of benefits that this offers. Staff members at the college will also enjoy the benefits of the service, enabling them to utilise the technology to provide a more effective learning experience for students.

Gerry Arthurs, head of public sector south at Virgin Media Business, said that this sort of technology could make a huge difference to students, and could provide them with a more fulfilling and hands on education. He said: “HRC is a shining example of how further education institutes can use technology to create a more interactive and collaborative education environment for today’s digital generation.”

Many believe that the high speed service that will result from this project will provide students at the college with far greater opportunities when it comes to their college work, enabling them to enjoy a more fruitful educational experience thanks to the tools and resources that will be available as a result of the high speed broadband service.
