Tiscali broadband brand comes to an end
The Tiscali broadband brand has now come to an end with Talk Talk, the broadband giant that acquired Tiscali, migrating Tiscali broadband customers over to Talk Talk.
Following the acquisition of Tiscali by broadband giant Talk Talk in May of last year, with Talk Talk migrating former Tiscali customers over to the Talk Talk brand. All former Tiscali customers now come under the umbrella of Talk Talk, and this has made the broadband giant the largest residential broadband provider in the UK with four and a quarter million subscribers.
After buying the Tiscali assets for two hundred and thirty six million pounds in May last year the chief executive of Carphone Warehouse, Charles Dunstone, announced that he would be doing away with the Tiscali brand and bringing the customers over to the Talk Talk brand, and this is what he has now done.
Dunstone made some comments about the migration on the Talk Talk blog this week, stating: “From today the Tiscali brand is no more and we’re committed to giving all of our customers absolute clarity about who we are, the services we provide and the prices we charge. We’ve gained a lot from the Tiscali acquisition, most notably TV and Portal expertise and some great people, but from today the brand name will disappear and our focus is on TalkTalk.”
He also said: “Today we welcome all Tiscali customers to TalkTalk and open the doors to a new portal. We are in the privileged position of being the gateway to the internet for millions of people and we now have the tools – the best network and best value products – to do this exceptionally well.”
According to reports names such as Pipex and Freedom2Surf, which were Tiscali acquisitions, will not be made to change name and rebrand to the Talk Talk name.
