Music download service over broadband added by Tiscali UK

October 30th, 2009 by Richard

In a partnership with eMusic the TalkTalk owned Tiscali UK has launched a new free broadband music download service without the use of Digital Rights Management (DRM)

An incredible 6.5 million MP3 tunes have been made available for users to download using the new ‘music for life’ subscription service, which is available at a cost of £9.99 per month to any user of Tiscali’s portal in the UK.

Neal McCleave, the senior director of Online at TalkTalk advised “We are always looking at ways to enhance our portal and offer the best services to our six million users. The Music For Life Service will be a great boost to our entertainment content and offers a huge range of tracks at very competitive prices.”

Any new users who sign up for a 14 day trial of the ‘Music For Life’ service will be able to download 50 free songs as Tiscali celebrate the service’s launch. The trial can be cancelled at any time by users and they are still able to keep the music they have downloaded during the trial.

Unlike many other offers where music downloads come with DRM this service allows users to burn the music to a CD an unlimited number of times and the MP3 music downloads are compatibly with all forms of portable multimedia players.

With all the current arguments over online piracy and how it should be dealt with many experts and industry insiders are hoping that rather than illegally downloading music user will instead be persuaded into participating in legal music downloads through the Tiscali music service.

The Tiscali website provides users with all the necessary information for them to sign up for that trial and makes it as easy as possible to find and download all the music they need during the trial.
