TalkTalk to try and help credit crunch victims

Internet Service Provider Talk Talk is set to try and assist struggling consumers who have been hit hard by the credit crunch by offering some assistance with regards to broadband service bills.

Over recent months the financial climate in the UK has continued to get worse, and this has impact both on various industries and the financial markets. Moreover, it has had a profound impact on household finances, and many families have found themselves struggling to make ends meet each month due to soaring costs and tight credit conditions.

Families are struggling to pay their rent, mortgage, and bills in some cases, and lenders are being urged to try and assist those at risk of losing their homes by modifying their loans. Whilst the mortgage industry was not particularly keen to do this it seems that certain groups within the broadband industry are willing to try and help consumers out.
A recent report has stated that the Chief Executive of Talk Talk, Charles Dunstone, has announced the launch of an emergency Talk Talk broadband package. This package will be aimed at helping out struggling consumers who are finding it difficult to make ends meet as a result of the global credit crunch.

As part of the package some consumers who are having money problems may be able to take payment breaks on bill repayments, and others may be able to get away with paying less money for a slower service. With household finances so tight broadband is becoming more of a luxury for many, but industry experts have recommended that those looking to cut their costs without losing their broadband consider switching to a more competitive provider or reducing their speeds in order to get a lower price.
