Talk Talk wants older consumers to embrace the digital age
Internet service provider Talk Talk has announced that it has been taking a number of steps to ensure that older consumers are more involved in digital technology and broadband use.
Last week saw Silver Surfer’s Day take place in the UK, and this was a day when a range of projects and events took place in the UK that were aimed at helping older consumers to learn about getting online and making use of broadband services to help them to benefit from this technology. The aim of the day was to train older people to use the internet and to get more older consumers online.
One Internet provider has recently shown how it has also been supporting efforts to get older people using the Internet, and in addition to supporting the recent Silver Surfers’ Day has also taken additional measures to try and promote internet use amongst the older generation. The provider in question is Talk Talk, with officials from the firm stating that the company has been working to increase the number of older consumers that are getting online.
Talk Talk said that it has also been supporting the Race Online 2012 initiative as well as the Pass IT On schemes. An official from the firm said that the company had a firm and passionate belief that older people should use broadband and internet services and wanted the older generation to embrace digital technology.
She said: “As the world becomes increasingly digital, and online technology becomes more and more important in our everyday lives, it’s crucial that no section of society is left behind. Incredibly, ten million people in the UK have never used the internet and many of those will be older members of the population.”
