Talk Talk harbours high hopes for coming year

Officials from the leading broadband provider Talk Talk have recently released figures relating to its customer base for last year and hopes to keep up the momentum over the course of this year.

One of the leading broadband internet service providers in the UK, Talk Talk, has recently announced its customer base figures for the end of last year, and has said that it hopes to build on its success by keeping the momentum going over the course of this year. The provider confirmed that in the final quarter of last year it had added more customers to its base and hopes to continue this success over the course of the year.

According to figures from Talk Talk one hundred and forty four thousand new customers were added to the database in the final quarter of last year, and this was a sharp increase from the one hundred and fifteen thousand that were added in the third quarter of the year. This was partly down to the company’s acquisition of the Tiscali group.

Talk Talk has stated that the increase in customer numbers has also come from the reputation of the provider and the levels of services and value for money that it offers to customers. The company said that it felt it could continue to improve customer numbers this year based on a combination of these factors.

A number of rival providers have tried to entice new customers by offering bundled deals that include services such as high definition TV and video on demand services, but this is something that Talk Talk is steering clear of at present, with the company stating: “We do see the way people watch TV is changing – it’s over a wire rather than through the sky. But we see having a good simple honest pipe has great appeal.”
