Old Tiscali contracts will be honoured by Talk Talk
Broadband giant Talk Talk which recently took over the old Tiscali brand has recently announced that despite its original stipulations it will now be honouring old Tiscali contracts.
At the start of this year the broadband giant Talk Talk, which recently took over the old Tiscali brand, started to migrate Tiscali customers over to Talk Talk services. At that time the broadband giant said that Tiscali customers that did not wish to switch over to a Talk Talk package could end up paying significantly higher charges for their services.
Many thought that this would not be an issue, as it was thought that the majority of old Tiscali customers would be reaching the end of their contract, which would leave them free to move to another Internet service provider if they wished to do so. However, it has emerged that this is not the case and there are many Tiscali broadband customers that still have some time to run on their contracts.
Under the previous Talk Talk stipulations this would have meant that these customers would either have to opt for a Talk Talk package or would have to pay higher fees. However, Talk Talk has now announced that it has decided to honour the existing contracts of old Tiscali customers, and in addition to this will be looking at more appealing alternatives to offer to these consumers.
One broadband industry expert stated: “This is great news for existing Tiscali customers who wanted to hold onto their low-cost deals for as long as possible. The six months half price offer is also very tempting, and TalkTalk does offer very good value in its own right, with 8Mb broadband, evening and weekend landline calls, anytime local calls and line rental for a total of just £18.48. Users looking for a higher-spec package can sign up to TalkTalk’s 24Mb broadband Pro, for £14.99 a month with ‘unlimited broadband’ downloads, subject to a fair usage policy, and anytime landline calls.”
