Wireless dock launched by T-Mobile
Mobile giant T-Mobile has launched a wireless router for its mobile broadband dongles, which will allow up to three people to share one connection
T-Mobile, the mobile communications giant, has recently announced the launch of its Mobile Broadband Share Dock 100, which is a wireless router for its mobile broadband dongles, and will allow up to three people to access the Internet off one connection. The dock is a disc shaped device, and the USB stick simply slots into the top of the device.
The bandwidth of a mobile connection could probably only comfortably support three users from one connection, and therefore the device has been designed to allow up to the maximum of three to access the Internet off the single connection, state officials from T-Mobile.
It is reported that the dock will be provided free of charge to customers that are willing to sign up to a contract for eighteen months, costing twenty pounds per month. This will also include the USB modem. For those that already own T-Mobile dongles the device will be available for purchase separately.
According to recent research conducted by PC Pro T-Mobile offered the fastest network in their test of the five major mobile broadband providers in the UK, and offered an average speed of just over 2Mbps in London. The mobile giant has also recently launched pay as you go mobile broadband packages in a bid to meet increasing demand for mobile broadband services in what has fast become a very competitive market.
With the introduction of services and products such as PAYG mobile broadband and the new Share Dock T-Mobile hopes to make mobile broadband both more accessible to consumers and easier to use, having seen a huge demand for mobile broadband over recent months.
