T-Mobile named as best choice for those on the move

In a recent report one broadband industry group has stated that for Internet users that need to get online whilst they are on the move the mobile network provider T-Mobile is the best choice

When it comes to mobile broadband providers, consumers in the UK have plenty of choice, and there are different mobile broadband packages available from a range of providers, with services available to suit all sorts of needs including those of both casual and business users. Many people have now become reliant on their mobile broadband access and therefore speed, reliability, and coverage have become very important considerations.

Following a recent study one broadband industry group has recently released a report naming T-Mobile as the best choice for those that need to be able to access the Internet whilst on the move. As part of the study the speeds and coverage available from six mobile network providers were put to the test, with T-Mobile coming out on top.

As part of the study the dongles of these providers were also tested to see how they handles specific actions such as streaming audio and video or downloading podcasts. In three out of the five areas tested T-Mobile is said to have come out of top, although in one of the three categories, which as coverage, it came joint with Virgin Media. The other two categories where T-Mobile came top were best download speed and best upload speed.

An official involved in the research said: “Getting mobile broadband to work well on the move presents some real problems for providers, especially in more rural areas, but as we work towards establishing a universal minimum standard for UK broadband, these challenges need to be met. Most of the ISPs showed no major progress from last year’s tests, despite several putting up their ‘up to’ speed claims.”
