T-Mobile and 3 to compete for prepaid mobile broadband in run up to Christmas
Industry officials have stated that the prepaid tariffs now available from T-Mobile and 3 for mobile broadband will create stiff competition in the run up to Christmas
Tow mobile communications giants, T-Mobile and 3, have launched a range of prepaid tariffs for mobile broadband customers. Whilst reports claim that none of the other major mobile broadband providers intend to move into the prepaid mobile broadband market in the very near future officials have said that these two mobile companies will be competing for prepaid dongle sales in the run up to Christmas.
Mobile broadband has taken off in a huge way, and the two providers have said that they have introduced prepaid mobile broadband to give consumers more choice. An official from T-Mobile recently said: “Mobile broadband has hit the mainstream and we have made it simple for anyone to buy, use and understand.”
He added: “We’ve seen massive demand for mobile broadband from a range of people, so we’re creating ways for customers to only pay for days they actually need. T-Mobile intends to make it as easy as possible for new customers to join the mobile broadband craze that is sweeping the country and to help with this we will soon be stocking our range of packages in a variety of new outlets such as supermarkets and popular high street stores.”
In terms of tariffs T-Mobile is currently offering more choice than 3. With 3 the tariff is £15 for thirty days, and the cost of the dongle is £49.99. With T-Mobile the cost of the dongle is the same as with 3. However, it offers tariffs starting at £2 for one day’s access through to £20 for a thirty day period.
