Network upgrades announced by T-Mobile
Mobile broadband provider T-Mobile has recently announced that it is upgrading its network, enabling consumers to enjoy a range of new benefits
Earlier this week the mobile communications giant T-Mobile announced that it was upgrading its network to provide consumers with a range of additional benefits, and to make the technology both faster and cheaper. The communications giant announced plans to make mobile broadband both faster and more cost effective for consumers, with both upgrades and a greater choice of value for money mobile broadband packages.
The provider recently switched on the country’s first fast upload network HSUPA, which is a broadband upload service that enables user to share videos and photos. In fact, from the start of this month users have been able to enjoy uploading videos and photos to websites at speeds that are five times faster than they were previously, with speeds of up to 1.4Mbps.
The provider is now in the process of upgrading its 3G mobile network so that consumers will be able to enjoy speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. This will be rolled out to major cities around the country over the coming months. The mobile broadband packages from T-Mobile also offer access to over one thousand WiFi hotspots in various locations including airports, Starbuck’s coffee shops, and on a number of train services.
T-Mobile is also aiming to provide better value for money for its customers, and those signing up to a twenty four month contract on Mobile Broadband Plus can enjoy a five pounds discount for the first three months. This will take the monthly charge to just ten pounds. The cost of the Mobile Broadband Max package has also been cut to a maximum of thirty pounds a month.
An official from T-Mobile stated: “Independent tests carried out by PC Pro this month found that T-Mobile’s Mobile Broadband connection is the most consistent in the country. And that’s important to people who love the freedom they get with mobile broadband but want reliability too, for instance when they’re uploading a video for friends and family. Fantastic value and simplicity are also vital - and we think our new range of improvements make us the best in Britain on all fronts.”

Don’t get this service, I live in a “Very High” coverage area with 100% signal, the speeds barely reach 100kb/s which most people know is slow, it constantly disconnect’s and is very unreliable, impossible to use MSN Messenger / Yahoo etc because of disconnections this is the case for most users of this service because the network cannot handle the volume of new users. Also all your data is sent through a proxy, slowing it down even more and is more-than likely stored by t-mobile, the proxy server also compresses images so they appear grainy and theres no way to stop it unless you get t-mobile’s “Web ‘n’ walk accelerator” software which doesn’t work lol so you’re stuck with grainy images indefinently, avoid at all costs.
