Charity bike ride to be used to test mobile broadband dongles
It has been announced that Talk Talk is to use a charity bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in order to test its new mobile broadband dongles, which are to launch later on this year.
Communications giant Talk Talk has announced recently that it will be testing its new mobile broadband dongles in a very novel way – via a charity bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. The broadband dongles will be put through a beta trial on the charity bike ride, and the dongles are set to be released later this year.
The initiative is being sponsored by the home phone and broadband provider, and the bike ride will be undertaken by senior physiotherapist Sarah Beckingsale and consultant surgeon Steve Mitchell. The money raised from the charity bike ride will go to Great Western Air Ambulance.
The charity bike ride trip is over nine hundred miles, and the two medics are hoping to complete the bike ride in just nine days. At the same time they will be beta testing the mobile broadband dongles for Talk Talk, and will be able to keep fans updated on how things are progressing.
Talk Talk has not yet revealed the pricing for its new mobile broadband dongle, but with the mobile broadband market having become increasingly competitive it may face stiff competition from rival providers according to industry experts. Another recent report has claimed that the UK offers some of the cheapest mobile broadband pricing in the world, which will come as good news for the rising number of consumers that want to enjoy the flexibility and freedom that this technology offers.
