Successful quarter for broadband and communications giant
The broadband and communications giant, BSkyB, has announced second quarter results for this year, and the figures have indicated that the company is continuing to enjoy success.
The communications and broadband company BSkyB has announced that its results for the second quarter of this year have been better than had been expected, and the media giant is making good progress in all areas, from its television services to its broadband offerings. With various promotions and prices cuts the company has managed to boost its customer base in the last three months despite the ongoing recession.
In the past three months the satellite broadcaster has added around one hundred and twenty four thousand new subscribers to its customer base, tempting new custom through launching special deals and offers. Annual profits for BSkyB have increased by four percent in the twelve months leading to June.
Around sixteen percent of the nine and a half million customers on BSkyB’s customer base currently take broadband bundle deals with television, broadband, and telephone services, but this is something that the company hoped to address in a bid to increase the number of customers taking all of these services.
An official from the broadband giant said: “We offer customers outstanding value through a combination of high quality products and great value and expect continued growth towards our target of 10 million customers by December 2010.” He also denied that the company was recession proof, stating that “looking ahead, we expect the overall consumer environment to be challenging”. However, he went on to say”We think we are well placed to build a bigger and more profitable business in the long term.”
