Sky seeks agency for broadband advertising
Communications and broadband giant BSkyB is said to be looking for an agency that can handle its advertising account for the Sky Broadband service, as it prepares to try and entice customers away from rival provider.
Competition amongst the major players in the broadband field has become increasingly fierce over recent years, and amongst those fighting for as large a market share as possible when it comes to broadband services is BSkyB. One of the ways in which the various rival broadband giants have managed to secure more customers is through effective advertising and marketing of their services, and this is something that Sky is hoping will help it net more customers this year.
In fact, it has been announced that Sky is now looking for an agency that can handle its advertising accounts for its broadband service, as it plans to launch a marketing campaign this year to try and take a larger slice of the broadband market in the UK. The agency that is selected for the job will have to put together a highly polished advertising campaign, which will be launched later on this year.
Sky has also enjoyed success when it comes to building up its customer base, and in the final quarter of last year it managed to accrue over one hundred thousand new broadband customers, taking its customer base for its broadband service up to nearly two and a half million. The broadband and communications giant has already worked with a number of advertising and marketing companies to raise awareness of its services and make them more appealing for potential customers.
Sky, like other broadband providers, has also launched a range of special deals over the past eighteen months to try and increase its customer base, particularly during the recession when many consumers were looking for low cost deals.
