Sky hits back at Virgin Media
According to recent reports two of the UK’s broadband giants, Sky and Virgin Media, are now at loggerheads following claims that each have made when advertising their broadband offerings.
It has been claimed that two of the UK’s leading broadband providers, Sky and Virgin Media, have come to loggerheads over claims that are being made in their respective advertisements to plug their various broadband offerings. Communications and broadband giant Sky has apparently hit out at Virgin Media in its latest advertisement in the Broadband Happily Ever After series.
The move comes after Virgin Media claimed that it offered the most consistent download speeds and the lowest prices in the UK, with some of its advertisements claiming to offer speeds that are twice as fast as those offered by rival providers such as Sky, BT, and Talk Talk.
However, Sky’s latest advertisement has the three little pigs from the fairytale in it, and the animals are saying: “Have Virgin Media got the most consistent speeds and lowest price? Not by the hair of our chinny, chin, chins. Virgin Media have huffed and puffed, but they haven’t blown away Sky TV customers’ lower prices and more consistent speeds for up to 20Mb broadband.”
The campaign wars come amidst controversy over the way in which broadband providers have been advertising their packages, with many concerned that whilst they advertise impressive up to speeds most consumers do not actually get anywhere near the speed that is being advertised, leading to the many Internet providers being accused of running advertisements that are misleading.
