Recent figures have shown that broadband and media giant Sky is enjoying continued success having added over one hundred thousand subscribers over the past quarter.

The release of recent figures has shown that broadband and media giant Sky is continuing to enjoy success with its broadband offerings, and over the past quarter has managed to accrue over one hundred thousand new subscribers to its services. The new additions have brought the number of broadband subscribers with Sky up to 2.4 million.

The figures show that twenty five percent of customers with Sky now choose one of the provider’s broadband packages, and there has been an impressive eighteen percent increase in the number of subscribers that are taking out one of the triple play bundles with Sky, which includes broadband, television, and landline services all bundled into one.

The Chief Executive of Sky, Jeremy Darroch, said that the provider was enjoying continued success and 2009 had been another good year. He said: “It has been another good quarter in what remains a tough environment, with more customers joining Sky and strong demand across our entire product range.”

One industry official stated: “Sky broadband packages continue to offer great value for money, especially when taken with Sky Talk, which offers a £5 discount on monthly broadband costs, even giving customers on the Broadband Base package ‘free broadband’. Sky’s six months free broadband offer is still also running, which gives customers free access to its Sky Unlimited 20Mb broadband package for six months. However, customers on either its Broadband Base or Broadband Everyday packages do need to make sure that they don’t exceed their download allowance or they could be charged extra.”
