Free broadband offer from BSkyB

Dec 29 2009 / By Rob Webber

Media and communications giant BSkyB is offering new and existing customers the chance to enjoy six months’ worth of high speed broadband and calls for free.

Whilst most of us are very keen to enjoy the benefits of higher speed broadband in many cases cost can be a real issue, and often people have to compromise on the broadband service that they take simply because of the price. However, those that would consider signing up to BSkyB for their service could now enjoy a great deal with a special offer that has been launched by the media giant.

Both new and existing customers with BSkyB can get to enjoy six months worth of free broadband with speeds of up to 20Mbps as well as truly unlimited downloads. In addition to this the six months free service from BSkyB will also include free evening and weekend calls to landlines in the UK.

Once the six month introductory period is over the package will revert back to the normal price of ten pounds per month, plus line rental which comes to eleven pounds with Sky and slightly more with BT. The minimum contract period is twelve months, which means that the service for the first year will work out to a cost of five pounds per month.

Like its competitors BSkyB is keen to bring in new customers and win them from rival providers, and this promotion is one way in which it hopes it can do this. A similar deal was announced just a few weeks ago by the communications giant O2. In order to benefit from the deal consumers will have to sign up for the BSkyB deals before 5th February 2010.
