Satellite broadband should be considered by those in rural areas
A recent report has highlighted the importance of people that are living in rural areas with poor access to standard broadband to consider other options to help them to get better access and improved speeds.

There are many people across the UK who live in areas where it is difficult to access standard broadband services and where speeds are so poor that the consumer may as well be back on dial up services. This is something that can have a huge impact on consumers in areas where it is difficult to get broadband at a decent speed – or at all in some cases – putting the people in these areas at a huge disadvantage.
It is not only residents that live in these areas who are suffering as a result of poor or very slow broadband access, but also businesses, which need reliable access and speeds in order to be able to run their businesses more efficiently, improve productivity and communication, increase awareness of products and services, improve sales, and compete more effectively with rivals.
One industry expert has recently stated that it is vital for those living or working in areas where there is little by way of reliable standard broadband to consider the alternative options that are available to them, which could put them in a position where they have improved access, increased reliability and faster speeds.
He said that one very effective solution or alternative was satellite broadband, which is available everywhere and offers speeds of at least 1Mbps. He said that satellite broadband along with technology such as mobile 3G services could help those struggling to get broadband access at present. He stated: “If you’re looking at advantages, it’s filling in where other providers can’t help.”
Are you using satellite or 3G as an alternative to standard broadband services?
