Mobile broadband on prepay offered by O2
A new mobile broadband offer from UK mobile Operator O2 allows unlimited Wi-Fi access through The Cloud and the downloading of 500MB of data for only £2 per day.
With the recent launch of a £29.99 USB dongle, O2 now claim to be offering the UK’s lowest price mobile broadband service on prepay. There is a range of data offers included with a modem under £30 with the Pay & Go package from the mobile broadband provider. The choices available to users are £2 a day to download 500MB, £7.50 per week for 1GB or £15 per month for 3GB downloads. Since its entry into the mobile broadband market in April the cost of O2’s USB dongle was dropped in price. No prepay offers where available at the time and the closest offer available was with a £119.99 modem on a rolling £20 per month contract.
The speed of download with this recently released dongle is up to 3.6Mbps, which compares to the 7.2Mbps download speeds of the top-range HSDPA and O2 advised that this is aimed at the youth market and light users.
The marketing director of O2 mobile broadband, Peter Rampling said “Pay & Go will appeal to those customers who want to snack on the Internet without the need to commit to a long term contract. Our younger customers want to live online and can do so with Pay & Go at affordable prices.”
With access to over 6 000 locations the combination of the coverage provided by both the wireless hotspot operator The Cloud and the partnership of O2 customer will be given unlimited Wi-Fi access with each price point.
Customer satisfaction in the UK could be significantly boosted with these cheap broadband packages combined with unlimited Wi-Fi access when the reaction of most users is mixed due to high cost and connection speed complaints.
A 50-day happiness guarantee that gives customers 50 days from purchase in which they can return their device without early termination charges and a full refund, and a network coverage checking service have also been launched by O2. Because of keeping its customers better informed O2 has said that these recent measures have led to a vast reduction in its modems being returned.
