Broadband provider O2 has been honoured with the top award in a recent broadband survey which involved the views of over six and a half thousand survey respondents.

The recent PC Advisor Broadband Survey has seen the UK broadband provider O2 scoop one of the top awards, beating off rival providers. The survey saw O2 win the prestigious ‘Besy Buy’ broadband title, despite challenges from rivals such as Be Broadband and ZEN Internet.

Around six and a half thousand respondents were surveyed as part of the process, and these respondents were asked to comment on various areas of their broadband package or service, including reliability of service, download speeds, and customer service levels. Following analysis of the survey responses O2 came out as overall winner with the title of Best Buy broadband.

An official from O2 said: “We are delighted to win this award for O2 Broadband. It has been a great year for us and we believe we have a great value product at a good price. Our customers get peace of mind when they buy from us with added benefits like access to free internet security, free UK customer service and no connection charges. Thanks to everyone who voted for us and we are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.”

A spokesperson for PC Advisor added: “With such a large reader response rate, the PC Advisor Broadband Survey has become the most trusted survey of its type in the UK, and this year ranked and rated the top 14 ISPs. A number of ISPs fared well in the results, but O2 stood out from the crowd with customers providing positive reports about download speeds, customer service and the reliability of their connections.”
