New regulations to stop mobile phone internet users to stop running up high bills

The European Commission has recently introduced new bills that will help smart phone users to avoid the pitfalls of high bills that are run up from going online on their phones.

Many people access broadband and the internet from their high tech smart phones these days, and whilst this offers a huge amount of convenience, ease, and freedom there is also a cost involved if the phone is used without a data bundle in order to access the internet.

Many people have been hit with bills that run into the hundreds or even the thousands of pounds after using their mobile phones to go on the internet, and this is something that the European Commission is determined to tackle by taking measures to ensure that consumer know how much they are using.

Under new regulations the European Commission wants mobile networks providers to limit the services of those that reach a fifty dollar limit, and also to inform consumers when they reach eighty percent of this limit so that they know when they are getting close to their allowance. This could help many people to avoid the costly bills that come with using the internet on their mobile phones.

However, consumers are warned that this does not apply to people using their own networks in the UK, and would only apply where they were using other networks in the EU in order to use the mobile internet via their mobile phones.
