Mobile Internet advertising opportunities are being missed
One industry expert has recently said that with the growth of mobile broadband services many advertisers are missing out on great advertising and marketing opportunities by failing to focus on this area.
There is little doubt that over the past eighteen months mobile broadband services have rocketed in terms of popularity and take up. An increasing number of people have been taking up mobile broadband services because of the freedom and flexibility that mobile broadband offers, and this has led one marketing expert to claim that some businesses and advertisers are missing out on great opportunities by not focussing on mobile broadband as an advertising platform.
Tim Dunn from MIG said that marketing specialists needed to focus more on mobile broadband, and he said that some marketing professionals still remained blind to the opportunities that the mobile Internet could provide despite the massive rise in the popularity of mobile broadband. He added that people in the industry still had much to learn about peoples’ online habits when it came to mobile broadband, and that those that accepted the popularity of this technology would enjoy many benefits.
He said: “The interest in the iPhone has changed this to a degree, but mobile is by no means a fixture on the communications planning schedules of all campaigns.” Reports have suggested that next year the popularity and usage of mobile broadband would continue to rocket with many people already accessing the Internet via a mobile device.
The number of mobile broadband connections in the UK is set to hit nearly forty three million next year, and this is slightly higher than a previous prediction of around forty two and a half million.
