A recent report has claimed that by 2014 almost fifty percent of the UK population will be using mobile Internet services, and this will mainly be fuelled by peer pressure.

Mobile broadband has enjoyed huge success over the past couple of years, with many people signing up to mobile broadband and using mobile internet devices in order to be able to get online whilst out and about. Whilst the availability of mobile internet has proven hugely beneficial for business users who need to get online whilst on the move it has also grown increasingly popular amongst casual users, who want to enjoy the flexibility and freedom that mobile broadband offers.

One recent report has suggested that the popularity of mobile internet is set to enjoy continued growth, adding that by 2014 almost of half of the population of the UK will be using mobile internet services. It is thought that by this time around forty eight percent of the UK population will be using mobile internet, and this will be partly fuelled through peer pressure.

The claim was made in a report from Intersperience, with officials from the company claiming that many people may start using mobile internet may because they feel increasingly embarrassed about not having access to these services as they become more and more mainstream.

Many casual users enjoy using mobile internet services due to the ability to access social networking sites and information whilst on the move. At present the rising use of mobile internet services is causing increasing problems on the current 3G networks that are in place, but once mobile network operators roll out the next generation of networks, which is 4G technology, the use of mobile internet could increase further.
