A recent report suggest that mobile broadband figures are set to soar, as more and more people discover the benefits of mobile broadband
According to a recent report the number of mobile broadband connections are set to soar over the coming years, with an increase in the number of people discovering the flexibility and convenient of mobile broadband. Telecommunications officials estimate that 3G web services are increasing hugely in terms of popularity, and this has resulted in the mobile broadband sector flourishing.
Officials claim that the range of mobile broadband providers that are in operation in the UK can look forward to increase popularity and revenue, as consumers continue to sign up to mobile broadband in order to embrace advanced technology and enjoy increase convenience and ease. Amongst the providers that offer mobile broadband and are therefore set to benefit are 3, Vodafone, Orange, and T-Mobile.
Officials are also estimating that the number of consumers that are accessing the Internet through YSB devices, Express Cards, and PC Cards could actually triple by 2012, so in just four years time this number could rocket to three times its current level, reflecting the popularity of this technology.
Industry officials recently stated: “Over the next five years, overall demand for mobile broadband modems is predicted to see a compound annual growth rate of 32 per cent, reaching shipments of 17 million units by 2012.”
The field of mobile broadband is becoming increasingly competitive, and consumers can enjoy a range of deals and special offers. However, some officials are concerned that consumers will not receive anywhere near the speeds advertised, which is a similar problem to that faced by static broadband providers.
