Industry officials have expressed concern over a number of possible problems stemming from die hard football fans trying to watch the World Cup matches online at work or using their mobile broadband services.

As most of the world is already aware the World Cup is now in full swing, with millions of football fans all around the world getting geared up to watch the matches. However, for many of these fans keeping up with the football matches is going to prove difficult because many of the games are on during times of the day when they are at work.

Officials are now concerned over a number of problems that could arise because of this. It is thought that some fans will utilise their internet facilities that they have at work to try and watch the games online when they are supposed to be working. Officials are concerned that this could affect company performance and output, and could also affect employees who could end up in very hot water over doing this.

Another problem that officials have highlighted relates to those that may use their mobile broadband services to watch the football matches. Officials believe that many people could end up exceeding their download limits by trying to watch the football matches via their mobile broadband, and could quickly begin to clock up huge charges for the extra data that they use.

Network capacity is another problem that many are concerned about, with the rising number of people that may be watching the football via their mobile broadband netbooks or smart phones having a severe adverse effect on the already strained 3G mobile networks, which will then affect those that are using the networks for other purposes such as work.
