One month mobile broadband deals to prove popular
Cutting costs will mean that more consumers go for one month mobile broadband contracts over the coming months, according to recent reports.
A recent report has suggested that over the coming months the number of customers that decide to sign up to one months mobile broadband contracts will rise, as an increasing number of people decide to try and cut back on their outgoings to help them to weather the ongoing credit crunch and financial crisis that has taken a grip in the UK.
Industry officials have recently predicted that around twenty percent of all mobile broadband contracts that are taken out over the next six months will be for one month contracts, as consumers decide to play it safe and opt against signing up to longer contracts in light of the worrying economic climate.
Officials have said that over recent months, when the credit crisis and recession have kicked in, the popularity of shorter term contracts and contract free deals has soared in the UK, with consumers becoming increasingly wary about signing up to a longer term financial commitment when it comes to their broadband deal.
One official said: “One-month mobile broadband deals are soaring in popularity during the current recession as wary users are shunning long-term broadband contracts in favour of ‘light’ commitments. Last year, mobile broadband changed the UK broadband industry forever; now with new one-month deals, mobile broadband is continuing to cause game-changing shockwaves. Many fixed-line only broadband providers must be quivering in their cabled boots.”
Whilst the number of mobile broadband providers offering such short term deals for consumers is limited, reports predict that there will be an increasing number of providers offering this option in the future, particularly given the current economic and financial climate.
