Ofcom wants faster mobile broadband in Wales
The boss of Ofcom in Wales has said that he would like to see faster mobile broadband services in Wales so that businesses can be more competitive.

According to recent reports the boss of the communications regulator, Ofcom, in Wales has said that he would like to see faster mobile broadband services introduced in the area so that businesses in Wales can be more competitive. This is according to Rhodri Williams, who is the Ofcom director for Wales.
He was speaking at the Cardiff Breakfast Club recently when he spoke about the necessity of faster mobile broadband services to benefit businesses in Wales. He said that it was essential that businesses were able to access the Internet quickly and efficiently whilst they were away from their office or business base.
Williams said that being able to get online efficiently with a reliable and quick service was essential in order for businesses in the area to be competitive and to enable them to remain productive. He said that this was particularly important to enable them to compete on an international level. He stated: “Being able to do business on the move is a prerequisite of international competitiveness.”
At present mobile broadband is largely running on 3G networks but high demand has resulted in reduced capacity, which leads to slower speeds and lower quality. However, when 4G mobile broadband networks are rolled out speeds and quality could both improve considerably.
