O2 joins list of free laptop providers
Mobile communications giant O2 has now joined the list of other providers that are offering free laptops with broadband packages for consumers.
Over recent months a growing number of mobile broadband providers have started offering hi-tech freebies with mobile broadband packages, the most common being one of a variety of free laptop models with certain packages and contracts. With mobile broadband becoming increasingly popular competition amongst providers has become more heated, and now another mobile communications giant has joined the free laptop market.
O2 has recently announced that it has created a range of new packages that will allow users to enjoy mobile broadband safely and securely. The mobile giant has teamed up with electronics giant Samsung, and will be offering the laptop with three new pay monthly mobile broadband packages for consumers to choose from.
The packages from O2 will be made available from the end of February, and Ronan Dunne, the Chief Executive officer at O2, thinks that they will prove very successful. A number of laptop models will be available with the O2 packages, and this includes the Samsung NC10 mini-laptop and the R510 model.
Mr Dunne said that he thought the packages that O2 are offering will help to take the worry out of buying a laptop for consumers. He said: “Our bundle packages, unique amongst those currently on the market, provide customers with everything they need and we are confident they will move people away from traditional laptop providers and into our stores.”
Another official from the mobile giant said that its focus was on getting everything just right for its customers both in terms of mobile broadband and in terms of home broadband. In a recent survey the company topped the polls when it came to customer satisfaction with both mobile and fixed line broadband.
