Mobile broadband deals need to be vamped up
Following the news that many consumers no longer think that mobile broadband with free laptop deals are all that they are cracked up to be one industry official has stated that mobile broadband packages now need to be vamped up.
Over recent week a study was carried out to see what consumers in the UK thought of mobile broadband deals that came with a free laptop. The growing popularity of mobile broadband has resulted in an increase in the number of network providers and resellers offering free laptops with mobile broadband packages, and when these offers were first launched they were received well by consumers who thought that they were getting a great deal.
However, the results of the study that was carried out showed that there had been an increase in the number of consumers that no longer thought that mobile broadband deals with free laptops offered good value for money. In light of the results of the study one industry official has now stated that mobile broadband deals and packages need to be revamped to reflect better value for money and greater incentives for consumers.
The industry expert said that many consumers were no longer impressed with free laptop deals on mobile broadband packages, yet providers still continue to keep this deals going without making any effort to revamp the packages to make them more appealing to a wider range of consumers. He stated: “I think the lustre has gone from the laptop deals a little bit.”
He added that over time an increasing number of consumers had realised that whilst deals claimed to offer a free laptop with certain mobile broadband packages, the laptop was not in fact free in the true sense of the word because the cost of the laptop was added to the monthly repayments resulting in the consumer paying for it over the term of the contract.
